I've been studying English for a few months, then I've listened to Wretch's verse and I got almost nothing of what he says: and yet, I was feeling like there was something really hard in there. So I kept studying English every day, and every single day I would listen to that verse a couple of times. Day by day I would get something more, but I still missed a half of it. But the more I understood, the more I enjoyed. This morning I've listened to it maybe for the 100th time, and I GOT THE LINES. Maybe I still miss a couple of them, but just because of the slang and some cultural references. The poetic impact grew clear to me, and as I realized that, I've been drowning in a fall of goosebumps. It's like reading Shakespeare, or any great poet. BTW, if there's any English mate reading this comment, would you mind showing up with a reply? I'm still trying to understand what he means by "I used to wanna go from the beach to the bricks cuz".
