Awesome Job Hester! What a nice mower that is, looks to be simple and strong. 😃👍

It’s definitely an interesting concept! There’s a bit of a learning curve but it’s basically super wide, v twin, self propelled push mower on steroids! 😂

My habit on any machine I haven’t worked on previously (which is a lot) is to download any manuals I can find to familiarize myself as much as possible with the machine before I start working on it. This includes the IPL, which sometimes answers questions like the one in this video faster than having to read through the manual because the name of a part oftentimes describes what it does. I’ve created a file system of folders on my laptop by manufacturer and then type of machine and under that specific machines so I can quickly reference information. My library grows every week as I work on equipment new to me. 🔧👍

That’s a nice system! Though on certain jobs I kinda like to “go in blind” and see what makes it tick, keep my curiosity satisfied 👍🏻

@@hester781 Yeah, I’ve gone in cold sometimes too, but most of the time that bites me in the ass and I end up damaging something or get the machine all back together, only to discover it still doesn’t work or I missed something important. In the end, at least for me, I’ve found putting in the homework ahead of time ends up saving me time in the long run.

HESTER!!! How are you ,On those walk behind mowers rear wheels have to spin the same RPM's for the mower to go straight. Those valves control the RPM's

I’m good buddy, yourself? And that was exactly what I thought as well, however the dealer got back to me and said they are basically relief valves for if the mower dies and you need to push it. You back them off a few turns and it bypasses the hydraulic pressure. I learn something new everyday 👍🏻

That's an odd duck. I am trying to figure out why i would want such a machine... Nice repair. Is that mecanism maybe something to free the wheels from the hydraulic system so you can roll it around? My Grasshopper has a lever for that.

You hit the nail right on the head! I found out after posting the video that that is exactly what these are for. You’re supposed to back them off all the way and it makes it so the wheels can turn freely if the machine ever dies on you. I Just told him to keep a pair of side cutters and a wrench with him 😂

These have a sulky bracket so I’m guessing a lot of operators get a sulky and are able to mow a huge amount with much less effort but be able to quickly detach the sulky for more close in maneuverability.
