A Cubs/White Sox ballpark comparison that just shows the facts and doesn't clearly take one side or the other? I am impressed.

Installing the canopy at the White Sox park was a good move.

The Sox have a very nice ballpark, a very underrated park...it does not need to apologize for not being over a hundred years old, or not having 'the cool neighborhood.' And i'm fine with whatever corporate name on it. Comiskey Park is long gone, it makes sense this park would have a different name.

I’ve been to both in recent years Wrigley in 2017 and Guaranteed in 2018 and I honestly like both. Wrigley has that charm that old places have and Guaranteed rate also has that charm, but more of a retro or throwback feel. Both places are a great place to see a game. The only thing I will change is for Guaranteed field is to change the name back to Comiskey park, because Guaranteed rate field has to be one of the worst names for a ballpark ever next to or second to loan depot park formerly Marlins park.

Wrigley is definitely a much more unique and memorable experience...although I grew up a White Sox fan regularly going to New Comiskey/US Cellular Field so it will always be a special place for me.

As a Sox fan. Our upside is stadium quality, food, and parking (tailgating). Wrigley....while a piss smelling urine factory with not so good food...is one of the last stadiums from baseball's glory days. And its in a nicer and more fan friendly neighborhood with more to do before and after games. There its settled.

If Guaranteed Rate Field was still called Comiskey Park then people wouldn’t be complaining about the actual park itself in the same way. It’s a beautiful ballpark once you get past the name. I enjoyed the Sox game I went to when I went to Chicago three years ago.

They should pick up New Comiskey and put it across the street so it faces the same direction as Old Comiskey. Then I will accept it.

As an outsider who attended a game at both parks within a day of each other, my opinion is as so: while Wrigley has the atmosphere and history, the park itself is a dump. Parking is impossible and very expensive, but the area around the park is amazing. Especially the newer areas behind home plate. Comiskey (or whatever the fuck it's called now) has the atmosphere of a retirement home but there's lots of parking, it's easy to navigate, lots of concessions and bathrooms, cheap/plentiful tickets and has all the modern conveniences you could want. The neighborhood sucks though, parking lots a highway and the ghetto. Basically, if I were to go to one game, it would be Wrigley every time. If I were to get season tickets, I would go to Comiskey. Wrigley would be a pain in the ass to deal with every day. Both are great places to catch a ball game though

It’s kind of crazy how much people in the comments are saying the white Sox have a better park. I’m okay if you prefer the Sox because everyone has their own opinions but Wrigley is obviously the better field. Guaranteed rate is a cookie cutter stadium with absolutely nothing unique or charming about it.

During the 1906 World Series it was Cubs vs White Sox and the Cub contained the greatest batting average at that time and the White Sox were known as the “hitless wonders”, yet the Sox beat the Cubs and that World Series was known as the greatest upsets in Series History! So yea the South Siders are superior.

I'm a life-long Sox fan, and I think our park is decent. However, I do believe its time is coming. I think once Reinsdorf sells the team, the new owners are going to want to bulldoze this one and build a new one elsewhere (hopefully somewhere on the south side). While compared to Wrigley it's a nicer field, but compared to other ballparks in the MLB built over the past 30 years, it's extremely generic and lacking character. It was just built at the most unfortunate time to build a new stadium, as it's one of the last cookie cutter parks around. It may sound ridiculous, the idea of getting a new park when this one is less than 30 years old, but much nicer and younger ballparks have been demolished and rebuilt recently. Turner field and Globe Life are examples.
