Ian Paice is one is the fastest and tasteful drummer in rock. He had oId jazz and rnr school.

In a recent interview Ian Paice defined his style of playing as "Big Band Rock and Roll" and this performance is the best example of that. To a large extent you can actually say that the (distorted) guitar replaced the leading role of horns and strings in popular music, while nowadays the computer has taken over the role of instrumentalists (and even vocalists), all together.

Curious fact: Jon Lord was made of Tonewheels, Drawbars and 24-carat gold. Also if you spell Jon Lord differently you get "god". Coincidence? I think not.
