Ulna is not attached to the carpals and is not part of the wrist joint. Ulna is attached to the Radius, and the articular disc prevents the ulna to articulate with the carpals. Please don't give students wrong information.

Hi Sobia Laghari, first of all, thank you for pointing this out. As most students who were confused, can benefit from your comment. So let us clear up this misunderstanding. Even though the articular disc prevents direct articulation of Ulna and the carpals, but "Ulnocarpal joint" is still considered a "joint" in most textbooks. Also, the lecture does not claim that ulnocarpal joint is part of the "Wrist joint"....It claims that it is an accessory joint, as part of the "Wrist region". These are two completely different things. We want you to understand that we put in maximum effort to thoroughly research our lectures, and would never let such a mistake slip-by. Laying distally and proximal to what? Forearm?

Hi there! Very good observation. "Proximal" is described as situated closest to the center of the body. So in this instance, the carpal bones: Scaphoid, Lunate, Triquetrum and Pisiform are laying proximally to the forearm i.e. they are situated closest to the center of the body.
