About me - Hey guys! My name is Natalie, but I go by Naty! I am a Family Nurse Practitioner student and a previous ABSN student. Through nursing school, I have gained a lot of tips and tricks on how to succeed in nursing school and I created this channel to share what I learned with pre-nursing and nursing students. I always looked for YoutTube videos during school to search for answers but didn't receive the answers I was looking for. I am here to teach everyone what I have learned to help others learn more efficiently and be the best student they can be! I also talk about holistic care and how to take care of yourselves during school! In this field, we are here to help and give back and this is a small part that I can do, to do just that! This video was so helpful and exactly what I was looking for! I am applying to an AMSN program and they stated in a Q&A that they expect at least 3-5 pages for the resume or CV. I'm glad I found out that info because I was going to keep it at one page.

Hi, thank you for your video! It is so helpful. I wanted to ask if i was a transfer student, then how would i put that under education? I did not get an associates, i transferred within two years.

Hey there!! Just for clarification, with regards to a transfer student, do you mean you took the courses to get your associates in high school and then went straight into college to get your degree?

@@NurseNatyDNPFNP25 No, so after i graduated high school, i decided to go to community college for two years first and then transferred to fresno state. I did not get an associates because i got my bachelors at fresno state instead so i just transferred within two years

@@harleenmann6646 ohhhh ok, not a problem! I would put under education you received a Bachelors in whatever you received your bachelors in and put the years you attended Fresno! Because you have a bachelors you may want to apply to an ABSN program, if that’s not what you are already planning!

@@harleenmann6646 that is wonderful!!! And yes you could just list the school, say which bachelors degree you got in and put the dates and I believe that should suffice!

I have zero job experience because i got married young and have been a stay at home mom to 2 chronically ill children. However, with having ill children, i have to learn to do a lot of medical stuff like doing tpn, ng feeds oxyyen, wound care and all the other medicines and health care management when it comes to both of them. How should I lay my resume out to make it stand out since I have zero "on paper" experience or job.

Hey Catherina! I think you stand out because of your unique situation. You could put on your resume where you received your training to take care of your children, such as learning about oxygen, wound care etc. You definitely have health care experience, even if it’s not in a “typical setting” but I would put exactly what you just told me and you could still label it “healthcare experience.” If you have any further questions, please feel to shoot me an email! i have completed my diploma in dental hygienist and registered in my home country, and i want to stydy bachelor in health aesthetics/dermal therapist so what skills or hobbies can i mentioned ? that look relevant?

Hi Puja! Sorry for the late reply! So it is hard for me to answer that, only because I don’t know what you have done as far as volunteer work, education and any work experience. If you’d like, you are more than welcome to email me and give me a run down on all your volunteer, work, education and health experiences and I can help you decide what to put on your resume!

@@NurseNatyDNPFNP25 Thank you so much!! i appreciate your respone!! well i have completed my diploma in dental hygienist and recently registered as a dental hygienist in 2021 march, then from april 2021 to till now i am working on clinc as a dental hygienist.. apart from this i have not done any other volunteer or anything..so now i decided to take bachelor in helath aesthetics/dermal tharpist so for admission i need cv.. so can i mention in cv on skill/hobby patients assessment.. like that? as patient assesment is common in both dental hygienist and skin therapist/aesthetics

@@pujashrestha4259 Hey Puja! Ok I understand a bit better! So yes I would definitely put your work experience as a dental hygienist saying exactly what you’re doing and I would also put how many hours you have worked as one so far! If you have ever worked in sales or any type of work I would put that as well to show you are able to relate and communicate with others! I would see if you could volunteer or shadow at a location like a dermatologist office or some aesthetic location to get experience. I would also put any other schooling you have and if it is only High school, then put your high school diploma. I would make sure to also put any clubs or organizations you were a part of. If it is the case where you don’t have much to put on your resume, I would try to at least get some volunteer or shadowing experience to help your resume stand out! Using the school email is not a good idea because if you graduate you'll lose access to your school's email

Hey! That’s a very good point, it will not hurt to include an alternate email. However, most schools allow students to have access to their email for about one year after graduation, so if you are already accepted into a program then it’s not a problem!

@@amarmata1 lol no no don’t say that, all schools are different! But then yes an alternative email would be warranted in that case!
