Sorry/not sorry, but I'm not suffering through 700 pages to get to the interesting part of a book. That's 2-3 other books I could've read. I don't have that kind of time. So to me - focus on telling a good story from the start! I totally agree with you that a good story doesn't need to be grammatically perfect but look closely and try hard 😆 As far as military fantasy goes, it's got to be logical (especially to me as a military member).

As a fellow author, first of all instant subscribe, because 🎉 you're doing the thing! But, I find myself more often than not learning what NOT to do reading other titles. I'm so bad with loving something and it suddenly not going the way I expected/wanted and immediately it kicks off the wheels turning wanting to write it the way I would have. 😅 Popular tropes: how can I invert that or use it in unexpected ways.
