I want to share with you some secrets of the trade, specifically what it's like to write a script for Angry Video Game Nerd episodes! I've been writing AVGN scripts since 2004 and figured you may want to know more about the process and the thought behind them, so I hope you enjoy this and maybe even find it useful.
1:16 - TYPES OF EPISODES
5:16 - WHAT’S FUNNY?
6:25 - PLAYING THE GAME
10:29 - FINDING THE MOMENTS
14:05 - CREATING AN OUTLINE
17:48 - WALKTHROUGH VS REVIEW
23:28 - INFO AND OPINIONS
27:57 - VERBAL FLOW
37:12 - WRITING HABITS
41:01 - PREP FOR SHOOT / EDITING
43:10 - CLOSURE

I remember seeing the old making of an AVGN episode video and being very impressed at how much work goes into it. I still am after seeing this one, thank you for sharing the information!

I always found it weird that James was able to beat all sorts of incredibly hard games while single handedly writing the AVGN episodes, yet never seemed to display much skill or knowledge during James and Mike Mondays

They admitted mike does some game play a while back. Maybe the last "making of avgn" episode

Mike played a lot, James did early on too. I remember they used to record gameplay on a vcr, when something happened in game they wrote the timestamp down from the vcrs recording timer lol. Must have been a lot of work.

It's been admitted numerous times before that James Rolfe is more of a movie guy than a gamer.

@cinemassacre Makes me wonder if you'll ever do a non-linear AVGN episode like Pulp Fiction almost. Why not? Lol

James, thank you for the timeless memories and moments from a Chilean fan, since the Friday the 13th video I've been a huge fan of yours and this kind of videos have made me persue a career in filmmaking, so I appreciate you a lot, also since the cinemassacre page days, I've always tried to get you to play some Jackie Chan games, especially Stuntmaster for the PlayStation 1, for me, it's a game made for you since you are a big fan of his stunts, and fight scenes, it's just tailor-made for da nerd !

Fantastic insight, James. I've been a fan since the days before KZfaq and love the fact you still thoroughly enjoy making new content. Keep up the excellent work, thank you for everything you've done and I look forward to the next instalment.
