hi friends! it feels so good to be back with a new video~ in this week's video i catch you up on all the post grad-school thesis project madness, i start a new writing project (just for fun), and i take you thrifting with me. may was such a crazy month full of really high highs and really low lows but i'm so thankful to have you all here (:

I agree, starting a just-for-fun writing project when you're in the middle of a stressful period is such a great way to relax and take some pressure off of yourself!

Jusqt discovered you through this video. I love it and your vibe! I did absolutely the same: I got so stuck on revising my manuscript, I had to start something else and it helped me take some emotional distance from my initial project. I love your video, inspired me to maybe to writing vlogs as well

Oh my gosh thank you! so happy to have you here (: yeah, revisions can sometimes feel like the biggest, baddest monster and the death of creativity so i like to be intuitive when it comes to my projects. So happy to have you here in our lil community (:

yes! as much as i'm telling myself this is for fun, i'm going to be strict and not let myself fall down the rabbit hole of starting a million different projects lol i'm hoping to share more about this new project in the next writing vlog!

I'm with you on getting back into the story when I sit down to write. Especially if I'm really into a book or show and my mind keeps wandering to that. It's so cool you're working on a project just for you. I write ya paranormal, but I have a contemporary romance book I work on for fun. It's nice to stretch outside of that writing comfort zone.

exactly! finding focus for me can be so hard sometimes. i live with my husband and he's a yapper so he's always coming in and chatting with me in the middle of my writing sessions which throws me off even more haha but all writing is progress and i'm glad you have a fun project you get to work on for yourself

@@beccatobar my husband does that too! 🤣 And my desk is in the open dining room so there's no separation. Focus is super hard for me too. I'm most productive when I write at a coffee shop though! That's my high focus spot.
