ZONA NORTE TIJUANA MEXICO "RED LIGHT DISTRICT" Most of the world's most dangerous cities are located in Latin America. The red light district in Tijuana is also known for street prostitution, particularly behind the main strip clubs on Calle Coahuila, in a large high-traffic alley named "Primer Callejón Coahuila". Illicit drug sales are also common to the red light district, which happens night and day in plain view because the local police tolerates it in the form of collecting their commission. The dealer's selling phrase is "¿Cuantos?" meaning "How much?" in Spanish. Heroin use and theft, not common elsewhere in Mexico, are rampant here. Due to its proximity to San Diego, California, it is frequented by US citizens, as well as locals. The district is also known as La Coahuila for the name of the primary avenue that runs through it.

Many foreigners travel to Tijuana to drink and dance, buy prescription drugs, purchase bootleg brand-name clothing, timepieces, and other personal accessories found globally, as well as manufactured and hand-crafted local curiosities. Locals and regular tourists avoid hassles by visiting the clubs at Plaza Fiesta or other areas of the Zona Río without the crowds, heavy marketing, and occasional tourist misbehavior or outright lawbreaking common on the Revolución strip. However, Avenida Revolución has been known for its proliferation of nightclub shows, primarily catering to casual tourists. While still an entertaining town with an enjoyable atmosphere, some locals and tourists feel it has lost an "anything goes" atmosphere, that was dangerous to locals, tourists, and the tourism industry.

If you know your way around and do not go there at night, there are many good places to eat. just be care full and use common sense as in any city. the coahuila and zona norte is real mexico,many people are nice too. a microcosm of mexican life and customs.

The Zona Norte is not "super dangerous", people may believe that, the reputation giving mostly by the U.S., but its not, been in that area many times, there's some street sells of items cloughs electronica ect. on the back streets and for the sea food stand never been attack or robbed are given and attitude, you threat people with respect, there nice people ect. its just giving that reputation for the way its looks and the name giving by the U.S. the hideuse Zona Norte, a few month ago a nut case from the U.S. murdered a prostitute, in his imagination that was his girl friend, in 40 years I have never heard of any working girls being murdered, even other American who live in that area for like 20 years never heard of that and of course the U.S. news media would have you believe it happens every week, don't believe it and the cartels don't mess with those women and there not sex trafficked or have pimps, they can come and go as they please

It never was closed, its recommended essential, but don't mean you cant cross the border, it was more of a recommendation, only Mexican national could not cross into the U.S. but Americans cross which doesn't make sense considering the U.S. has almost 3 time the death from Covid then Mexico, but what can I say, in the U.S. everything is politics and race this has couse a lot of lost revenue in the U.S. border business from Mexicans

It is closed going back into the USA, but US citizens can still cross because an American cannot be denied entry under the constitution, and thus, the border IS OPEN if you are a US citizen ONLY. The same is true at the US/Canadian border.

Ya you can but you will have to also pay more for the room time. And the street girls will try to squeeze more out of you sometimes, for instance a girl charging 20 for the default time will suddenly say 90 or 100 for an hour which if you do the math it doesn’t make sense. If you’re already staying at a hotel the girls standing near by are allowed in. I would suggest you already have a room if your trying to get more time unless you don’t mind paying extra for the room as well.

I always tell them I pay $1/minute. I have a couple regulars with whom I go up for an hour. It's usually just to kick it as well cause, well, why not? These regulars have been cultivated for years; we know each other as people. I sure ain't payin' a newbie that much. She has to prove herself, her worthiness to me. My time, my money. A neighborhood were people live is a Colonia, not a hood, or a barrio, a hood or Barrio is the name used in the U.S, not in Mexico
