I run a block off plate between my stock bpv on my stage 3 wrx with no issues

How are you venting your boost when the throttle closes?

@@DIYFabrications If it's blocked off, it doesn't vent at all and will pass back through the turbo as you mentioned in the video. However, you said that it will "counter spin the turbo and cause bog like crazy", not sure where you got that from as that's not true at all. A turbo typically spins at over 100,000rpm and the air that sits in between the throttle body and turbo is nowhere near enough to cause the turbo to counter spin. All it does is merely slow the turbo slightly as the air rushes back through to the air intake. This will slightly reduce turbo spool time once going back into boost, however, I have never been able to tell the difference in spool time when driving. It does not cause the car to bog-like crazy at all. Sure it might reduce the life in the turbo slightly, however, most modern turbos are very strong and are able to handle the 20psi of pressure coming back on them, as that's really not a lot of force. Running an atmospheric BOV is going to be way worse for the car compared to blocking off the BPV.

So do you need a tune of you install a BOV? Or what if i do an intake will that need a tune?

If you can adjust the valve, typically no. Just adjust the valve so that when the car is at idle, the valve is not venting at all.
