It wasn't Osaka playing good. It was Kostyuk playing horribly. So many unforced errors and double faults by Kostyuk. Kostyuk gave so many free points to Osaka.

It’s not like she can’t hit clean most of the time…she’s just being impatient ,lazy or afraid to move on clay wait when she get to the final on any tournament she will get her confidence back and that’s when she’s going to be a real threat .

I think she'll lose to Kasatkina next round. Kostyuk was pathetic. After her sensational Final run in Stuttgart couple weeks ago, she have been playing badly.

@@cheffonezthea6942 Daria Kasatkina is great clay court player. She is much better clay court player than Kostyuk. Daria Kasatkina have tittles and very deep runs on clay court tournaments. It will be difficult for Osaka to win against Daria Kasatkina, because she (Osaka) is weak on clay and Kasatkina is very good on clay.

You can see Naomi literally getting fitter each match. The weight is falling off, and her movement is improving. It may be too early for Roland Garros and Wimbledon but she just might be a serious threat at the US Open.

this is the backhand that give her 4 GS. She is still vulnerable in regards to her movement on clay and net play but remember she didnt have a good 1st serve percentage in this match. Placement of her 2nd serve is not always perfect (Bencic, Iga, Sabalenka can easily fire back those second serve) but its way better than before. The switch of her forehand with highball deep return is also something new and so far consistent. It gives her time and chance to still play during rallies. Surprisingly, this looks like a Naomi Osaka playing in hard court.

Naomi seems to be getting back to her former top form...she just needs to at least win a 250 and get back in top form hopefully. She's had some very good solid matches this year, I hope she can make such displays consistent, specially against Iga and a few others who are not my favorites 🤣 I loive Naomi and I want her to start winning more and more.

It was absolutely a more gallant and dauntless performance from Naomi Osaka. I can always observe this swift development on the clay surface with her mobility and compliance. Her timing is really seamless for each strike. It points out that she will plainly be more consistent and steadier than the previous periods.

Simply brilliant performance from Naomi. This is the player we fans have known since her breakout year in 2018. She is becoming more fit every tournament. Her movement is so much better, I think that by summer hard courts, she will be challenging for titles. So happy for her.

Mental issues are always a legit part of sport, but aside from that, if Osaka didn't struggle with them, imo, she would be absolutely dominating the WTA for years, including putting Swiatek to the sword, often. Maybe even giving Serena's tally a run for its money. I think at her best, she's clear number 1, ahead of Barty and Iga.

Osaka’s goal before was just to win slams esp on hard courts. Now, being a mother, she wants to win more slams on any surface and back to the top where she belongs. Motherhood makes her a determined player and a lifelong dreamer to inspire her child.

1)5 minutes highlights for 74 minute match is good. 2) Osaka didn't even do anything. Kostyuk was spraying unforced errors and double faults left and right.

@@einarsd4it’s always 5 minutes, or a little more. Never 6. Even for classics like Swiatek/Sabalenka in Madrid last week. And I watched a very good 10+ minute recap of this match, which really gave more texture, even with a one-sided scoreline like this.

I have no idea why ppl comment with so much hate when someone who was once good starts losing. We’ve all seen Osaka play before she is incredible & has the weapons to beat all the top players. Same with Raducanu. She played the whole tournament +3 extra matches to qualify to even get in. Straight sets victory, never dropped a set the whole tournament. We’ve seen what these players can do. Women are more in tune with their emotions than men & most would read all the hateful comments idiots like you write. I really hope they don’t, but most of them do. Tennis requires both mental & physical to be in tune. It’s not easy. I’ve seen a fellow friend play in women’s 4.5 league down 0-5 in the third set. She said I’m not losing and came back to win 7-5. Mental toughness, physical toughness, but most importantly, able to unify all these abilities & also keep the ball in & minimize errors while finding out the best way to win against your opponent.

多分だけどバックで決めに行く事をやめて、安定的なクロスでフォアでしっかりハードヒットする戦法にしたんだと思う。いつもよりバックでクロスが多い。というかほぼクロス。ストレートも際じゃなく真ん中より。今までバックのミスで流れ変わる事多かったしこれはGood
