Can I go faster then a road bike using slicks on my hardtail?
Its an interesting subject but not the only reason that I've put slicks on my NS Eccentric Cromo, which in itself is a beast of a bike.
I want to be using my full sus this year without neglecting my hardtail, so I've crafted another use for it .AN URBAN BRAWLER .
Whenever the trails are completely mud logged like they have been for the last three months ill attack the streets without feeling all that resistance .

Yow can get proper fast dawn Quarry Bonk cor ya ;) I've lived around Halesowen/Stourbridge last few years so I recognised a lot of your ride. Was looking into 29er slicks for me bike, what a coincidence the bloke reviewing can spake proper.

Very cool! ; I just got some Rubena V99 City Hopper Bicycle Tire with Anti-Puncture System and Reflective Sidewall (Black, 26x2.0-Inch) Tires, since my bontrager mtb tires just split down the Tread middle on the rear. I'm using my mtb as as a grocery haul and bike camping/ packing rig w both packing bags and or panniers pending feel and needs. . Any how, it's great to see there's other options out there, as I just looked for the highest rated and cheapest tire out there and landed on these Mitas tires; so fingers crossed works okay; as I'm a roadie at heart anyway. Kudos 👏

I agree, roads are far more dangerous than trail riding, i think slicks would scare me haha, nice vid mate 😃👍

I’m changing my tires on my GT mountain bike to hybrid tires. I don’t think there’s much difference in downhill riding on pavement but I’m more concerned about making uphill riding easier. I don’t think slicks are too good for a mountain bike. But a tire made for both pavement and dirt is ideal. But thank you for the great video. I enjoyed it and it helped me think about riding my mountain bike on different surfaces.

Run 26" thick slicks daily. Great on concrete... really get moving. No mountains near me.

As a cyclist i think its tools like you that give cyclists a bad name. The bus was going about its day, but a tool was tailgating it. The cyclist was 100% in the wrong.

Sod riding on the road, you are at the mercy of every other road user and unless you dress up like the Green Cross Code Man, you are all but invisible to other traffic. I used to be a member of a large cycling club when I lived down South, the majority of club members being roadies. The number of them who got quite seriously injured through no fault of their own was shocking. Each to their own and all that, but I am much happier slogging through slop than blatting along tarmac

I've had my Thickslicks (27.5 x 1.95) on for over a year now. They're absolutely brilliant, even in extremely wet conditions. Not sure how they'll perform on snow/ice. Unfortunately, they're difficult to find in the UK now. Good thing they barely show any wear after a few, thousand kilometres.

@@tallpaulify Living in London, they're a must have as the roads are complete shite and getting worse every day. I should have another 2 years use on my current set before they're knackered, but I'm tempted to buy 2 more for the future.

Im from a state where cyclists are second class citizens. No one is watching out for you, its up to you to keep yourself alive. Theres not many things like that left in this world, and I prefer it like that.

@@AdventureTrailsMTB here in Mexico any car would rather run you over than avoid you, it's a literal survival game and lots of people die because of it (at least on my city) and the public transport its a tiny mafia, they got the police on their side and they have diesel trucks modified for public transport and they are always racing each other, they skip stop lights, they push cars and bikers off the road, they kill people and now just imagine how dangerous they are for cyclists, words cannot describe the fear it causes me to hear their monstrous engines roaring in the distance but quickly getting closer
