Yeah this is what I noticed. Maybe the scowl is supposed mean he’s upset his city is being destroyed, but with the damage/scuffs on the suit it very much looks like he is exhausted and can’t catch a break. Honestly this looks like Gunn is trying to emulate Snyder’s dark, gritty version we got instead of some hopeful savior

That’s something we’ve never seen in Superman. Just because he’s tired and feeling burnt out doesn’t mean this Superman won’t be hopeful, happy and optimistic. He’s feeling tired, just like everyone else gets, but that doesn’t automatically make him mopey and depressed like Snyder Superman

in the 1978 movie Superman repairs the San Andreas fault. In Dean Cain's Superman he lifts an entire rocket, including, all its passengers into orbit (in another episode he destroys and deflects a very large asteroid), In Superman returns, he lifts an island laced with Kryptonite into orbit and then propels it away from the planet. This superman looks exhausted putting on his boots, which, he is doing very slowly, as the city below looks like it's being fried by a particle beam/laser. I love Modern Hollywood... they can't get anything right, any longer. 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃 And yes, they deserve my sarcasm.

Superman looks like a depressed divorced father paying 90% of his wages to his ex wife that cheated on him during their marriage and won everything in the divorce including custody of their child. Now he can barely get out of bed and his one outfit needs to be put through the laundry but he just dosen't care. All that is missing is the messy room, empty bottles of whiskey strewn all over, filled ashtrays and tons of overdue and eviction notices.

@aliyyenman6181 in general I've been pleased with most actor's appearance as superman/ Clark. Reeves, Tom Welling, even Cavil. Dean Cain was a miss match but not as bad as this guy, this new guy may very well be the worst that they ever picked. I think in general you need a guy mostly of English heritage with a chisled jaw line and good hair, they have to be masculine but not Neanderthal like. Just my take, but yes, Reeves was the best.

People talk shit about Henry Cavill, but he had a serious determined expression. This new Supes looks like he's about to go work the night shift at McDonald's, for $7.50 an hour, his rent is 3 months overdue, two of his 12 kids are sick, and his wife is sleeping around with whole neighborhood, oh and his boss is an asshole... That's what the expression of the new Superman gives

@@robertdean925 Who said anything about James Gunn? There are better Superman actors without bringing the new guy, who hasn't yet had a chance to show us how he'll carry the character. The obvious better actor was Christopher Reeve, who also had better writing, at least for the first two movies. The less obvious but nevertheless far more impressive is Tyler Hoechlin, whose Superman brings layers of depth Cavill's never did, in part thanks to an excellent actor, but in large part due to a writing team that clearly understands and loves the character on a deep level.

It's not complicated. Bring back the Christopher Reeve costume, the bright comic books colors, make a fun and positive and hopeful film where Superman stops an overtly evil threat and saves the day. Never gets old, young and older audiences would both love it.

Fans begged for Man of Steel 2 for literally a decade. Then, DC finally announced they were making it, only to pull the rug out barely a month later, humiliate Henry Cavill for no reason, and give us his dollar-store clone instead. Even if this suit didn't look like something they fished out of the dumpster outside the CW studios, a lot of fans would still (rightfully) be angry.

I just can't seem to be at all interested in this new superman movie because of what they did with Cavil and ending of the story so that James Gunn could make HIS OWN superman movie. I know we will never have another Cavil Superman movie, but I have lost interest in this iteration just like I have lost all interest in Star Wars.

That's what I was thinking! It has that weird gritty texture thing going on. Not exactly what I would expect from the interior of a spaceship carrying a baby/child. Henry Cavil's suit had issues, too. I would think that Clark Kent might have had a crystalline look/structure made by his Fortress. Something that would shine in the light and slough off dirt. Not something that looks highly military. The one thing I like about Cavil's suit was the removal of the red shorts. While iconic, it was mainly used as a visual concept in the comics and also looked like circus strongman trunks or body builder briefs, reminding the readers of his strength. The first is unnecessary with today's technology, and the second is rarely recognized by the general public. I've heard far more jokes about the red trunks being on the outside of his clothes than anything about what they truly represented. The large iconic stylized "S" symbol is all most need to recognize the character. On a personal note, the red trunks always made me think it highlighted that area, drawing the eye, and in today's world would make it a great visual target (being bright red) for those who wanted to hit Superman.

You wouldn't cast someone that isn't from the UK, Scotland or Ireland to play James bond. It's the culture aspect that makes characters feel genuine. I loved the Snyder verse but it wasn't good still. I don't understand why people can't embrace something new and someone who cares for the comics. Synder verse is dead that ship has sailed.

The marketing for both films told you everything you needed to know without having to watch them. Everyone is allowed to make predictions and assumptions. I admit, I'm not a huge superman fan. I don't think the suit is that bad. I think the blue colors are just dark in the lighting. Seeing the knees and shins, the blue looks pretty vibrant. And I like the high collar compared to the no collar honestly, and i like the boot style and vibrant red. The only think I dislike is the baggy cloth look on the shoulders. It looks cheap, like an old television show. I don't know what that's about.
