@@3ggh3adseason 1 to 7 was done under the production of showcase. The three main characters now own swearnet and they produced seasons 8-12. I would say the exact same thing that the production of Showcase was more of a tame vibe and easier to watch. Once it was released on Netflix, it became outlandish and less “believable”.

Been watching this show since it came out. Its a "mockumentary" about 3 guys (Ricky, Julian and Bubbles) that live in a trailer park and commit crimes to get by. The trailer park supervisor is a total drunk named Jim Lahey who is always trying to get them arrested. You would really need to watch from season 1 to get what its all about. It takes a few episodes to get into it but when you do, you will fall in love with the charcters in the show.

Pretty much any small town in Canada has this, very entertaining at times but some of the sweetest kindest ppl that ended up in a peculiar lifestyle

The way Ricky talks his way out of things with police is just hilarious and not entirely implausible. What's great about this show is that it can be over the top without being so ridiculous that it's not believable. A lot of Canadians identify with this. Not necessarily living in a trailer park, but the attitudes.

Yeah, the funniest thing about Ricky, to me, was that he had this uncanny knack of immediately cutting down to size any pompous, arrogant person who came to the park, or just anyone at all in a position of authority who would try to throw their weight around. That person would show up, try to be a big shot in some way and then Ricky would just wander into shot with an immediate putdown. The swearing wasn't what made his speech funny, but it was a way to give it punch. He's really the voice of the viewer in many ways. Like, in the Bible Pimp, you see the daughter's hairstyle and think it's a bit stupid but move on and just accept it as some prim Christian girl thing, but then Ricky perfectly expresses that later on with, "cinnamon roll fuckin' head'.

Yeah TPB is absolutely a sleeper hit with a worldwide cult following. I used to watch it when i was in highschool in Toronto in the early 2000s so that explains the video quality of the earlier seasons until it moved to Netflix in Season 8. These guys are a huge part of Canadian Pop Culture for the last 20 or so years and they've only really been widespread once the show hit Netflix. On the surface it's a chaotic mess of vulgar language, sexual humor, drug and alcohol abuse, and stereotypes of Trailer Park residents, but the more you watch it, the more you see that in the heart of the show, it's about strong Friendship bonds. It's a criminally underrated show and I'd put it up there with shows like The Office.

Totally agree!! When I moved to the Philippines, my young Filipina wife eventually got into it. We had to backtrack right back to episode #1 and we watched every episode, movies and cartoon series. She was pissed when there was no content left. That demonstrates the transcultural power of that magnificent series❤️❤️❤️.

Bubbles and Ricky is what makes the shoe complete but I love all the characters. From 1999 to like 2015 it was on and they even did a USA and Europe tour and came down to Austin tx for a show and Ireland for a show on stage as well

@@RyneMurray23 when Trailer Park Boys first came out I still lived in the country. Me and my buddy we would set it up and put up projector up and blasted on the side of the barn. We have half the neighborhood out there hillbilly Drive-In LOL! I love that show

Its hard to go into this top 10 without context. You have to understand the show to really get most of these lmao its also very improvised. If you actually dive into this show the amount of improvised scenes throughout ricky and lahey alone are staggering

"Survival of the fitness!" Everyone makes fun of Rickey. But, there are only three characters in the show that have kids. Rickey, Rickey's dad, and Rickey's daughter's mother. Survival of the fitness indeed!

Being from Nova Scotia, I find the show hilarious bc I grew up with people like this. I'll be honest though I never really thought the show would be big outside the maritimes. I still find it weird that people in other coutnries even know about it😂

these guys did a pilot episode back somewhere between 1998 -2000 these characters have been known for at least 23 - 25 years , another thing to do is to google the term Rickyisms & this might help people understand the show a bit more , thanks for sharing this , Cheers from Ontario Canada ✌️

The best "first" episode to show someone to try to get them into this show is, "Where in the f*ck is Oscar Goldman" from season 6. The opening of that episode is the funniest in the series.

One thing ive noticed from these reaction videos is people dont really know how to react at first.. trailer park boys is definitely a show that can only be clipped after youve seen and understand the characters/dynamics. Very unique in that regard. The trailer park is a poverty-stricken chaotic disaster, but at the end of the day, the boys all crowd together to watch Hockey Night in Canada in Bubbs shed and order some chicken pizza. Its so therapeutic.

My parents lived in that trailer park when I was born. I owned a trailer in that same park when my daughter was two years old. It's not a bad way to live. It's better than living in a shitty apartment. I didn't own the land, but I paid $20,000 to own my own home, my lot rental fees were only $200 a month, and I got my money back when I sold the place a couple of years later.

I grew up in northern Canada, very small town, 100% there are outragous people you wouldn't believe, there was this one guy who inherited lots of money and dedicated his life to converting ordinary car into monster trucks jus because he could and we loved him.

Small town Montana boy here. One of our local welders and his brother built a crossbow. A BIG crossbow. How big? The limbs were truck leaf springs and they had to be winched to full draw. It shot rebar bolts, and they got full penetration through BOTH walls of a double-wide. Bored country folk make their own fun.

This is how we roll in nova Scotia 😅 I knew layhe, aka John he was a cool guy. If you watch the episode where their fishing bikes out of the lake pretty sure one of them bikes were mine From the late 80s, Early 90s when my dad used to live in the trailer park.

@@bikerboymc54 - i spent a lot of my youth on southern Georgian Bay in Ontario, which is an area full of cottages where people come to get drunk and crazy in the summer. In the winter, it was just like Sunnyvale. I was a Julian, and my best friend was definitely a Ricky.

so the idea is that there is a small time documentary / reality show being filmed. that's the style and why they're talking directly to the camera. at times you'll see for example in these clips when they were running from the cops they flipped the seat forward for the camera guy to jump in the back of the car.

Watch the original mocumentory TPB from 1999 to gain some context before deciding to jump into the series that followed several years later. Its considered the pilot episode shot in black and white. I think PlutoTV has it free right now streaming. Its just over an hour long.

cafeteriafood, you would have to start with episode #1 and continue, as the characters are very strong, their interaction is complicated, and its kind of like one great big long soap opera of what it's like living on the other side. When you do, you may eventually become a cult follower like me and many thousands more.

Context is always missing in these "best of" videos. If you don't know the characters, you may find their behavior weird. Once you get to know the characters, you will never forget them. The first couple of times I stumbled on the show I wasn't sure if they were acting or not. A couple weeks went by, and I thought, I need to know what those idiots are going to do next. Then I was hooked.

TPB is Canadian television royalty. If you asked someone from Canada to name the top 5 shows ever done in Canada, this is going to be on most peoples lists. This video was ok, but doesnt fully capture the spirit of the show in its entirety. I'd say you probably would have to watch 2-3 episodes to really get a feel of the characters, and why some of these things are funny.

These clips don't really work out of context. You have to be familiar with the characters. In fact, I'd go so far as to say you need to have seen the full scenes before. These are so short, they might just serve as a memory trigger to recall a larger bit.
