Now that you can be personally sued you'd have to be nuts to take one of these jobs. I remember in the 1980s when the state announced an exam they'd get 3000 applicants.

Good less trash on the street. Take away ppl that wanna harass people beat ppl murder ppl. It’s gonna sting the applicant pool because you can’t get away with it so much anymore. You need to do your job CORRECTLY or face a camera and the internet. If I was a scumbag who wanted a badge and gun so I could assert my dominance over peasants I’d think twice too in the age of the internet. Sgt fahey just got off with a police cover up after ASSAULTING A CIVILIAN ON CAMERA. disgusting corrupt

Everyone is experiencing shortages, if the corporate news supported freedom and supported working during the pandemic it would not have destroyed the work ethic. Glad corporate news advertises jobs free of charge for the state

It must have been nice growing up in a cop family. I sure wish that I could have known someone important that could have put in a good word or pulled some strings for me. So many great candidates who would have made excellent public servants have been unfairly excluded due to circumstances totally beyond their control. Maybe this current crisis will have the positive result of creating a more balanced and equitable selection and hiring process nationwide hopefully. Police officers are public servants. Police departments were never meant to be exclusive private clubs.

Im a statistic, I went to school for criminal justice, joined the explorers program, and did auxiliary. When I tried joining the NYPD I was DQd for integrity. The only thing on my record was a public urination citation back in 2013 the psychologist who interviewed my drilled me on it and could not believe that I was sober and "revealed" myself in public. It's incredible how embarrassing it is and how humiliating it is that I tried so hard and someone else determined my future.

@@wahduhhec Wow. So sorry to hear about that. I hope that you were able to find another career option that made you happy. I also have a CJ degree. I paid for the academy myself and was in the top third of my class. I was also able to briefly serve as a reserve although, it was quite boring and uneventful. Plus, most of the fulltime officers were quite arrogant and rude which made it generally unpleasant. Still, at least I was able to get into corrections and then probation and parole which I stayed in for 25 years. If I could go back in time, I would have applied only at major metropolitan departments and not wasted my time with my so called "home" town or state. It's never felt like home to me. I remember back in 1992 when I was participating in my first ride along with our sheriff's department. The deputy was a nice guy, but I couldn't believe it when he just unexpectedly pulled into a field and urinated. It was during the night and the field was out in a rural area with no houses around, but it was still weird. We had just passed an open truck stop with several restrooms. About that same time, that department had terminated a different deputy for urinating in the department parking lot behind the main building where the jail was. He thought no one could see him. In 2004, one of our municipal police officers murdered a young man that he had been in a relationship with. He was married at the time and also had a child. I still can't believe that he was ever hired. He's in prison now and eligible for parole in 2035.

Cameras have been a real downer for cops. They tell the truth and that is not good for the slave catchers.

i love it..I drive around Ct without the fear of being extorted for money..this is not true for MA and NY...they have way too many state troopers sitting around on the tax payer's dime.
@tomshortstop14 Жыл бұрын
I’d rather be extorted than never getting a warning they’re to tough in CT I’ve been harassed since 14 because my sister is a dispatcher and doesn’t like me. Never been arrested etc just pulled over detained let go but made me fear them. Today they’re all no longer patrolling it scares me that they are all high ranking sargt or higher.
@bigblackaf Жыл бұрын
@Rib I know about both those cases.. The paralyze case was in New Haven CT by New Haven police. The other case was at the state police department in Middletown CT. The point I was trying to make was that CT has a significantly fewer state troopers than MA and NY.

That's sad that the cell phone had to put these police officers in place because they wouldn't do it their self it's disgusting making hundreds of thousands of dollars not knowing the law playing stupid
