Kong is not in waldners league, he's 1 of those players who modeled himself after waldner esp since he's playing shakehand. So he has a lot of answers for what waldner throws at him but as you saw here he wasn't intelligent enough to win despite being in his prime and waldner at the end of his career ( he was already adding on the weight here ) . The Chinese players are very robotic but lack intelligence and style its just constant rallies. ( at least back then ) Waldner is surgical with his style .

Waldner lost and you come out with all kinds of excuses. He also lost in olympics 2004 to ryu seung min and wang liqin. i rather be called robotic and beat your genius waldner like what wang hao did to waldner - wadlner not only lost to wang hao but could not even take a set off him

@@alberthuang4868 Are you kidding ? Waldner won this match, are you blind ??? And Waldner is the greatest player ever. Just one example, he won the World Championships in 97 without losing any set. Do you think Chinese players can do things like that ? Jan-Ove Waldner 🥇for ever

@@thecat9660 Ma Long won six tournaments without dropping a set in the 11 point format but i have to agree that Ma Long and everyone Chinese was no match to Waldner. There will never be another player better than Waldner even if he won 100 tournaments and win countless matches without dropping a set

Not at all.Waldner based his game on his serve and forehand Kong had a weak serve and based his game on consistency and his superior backhand. His touch was pretty good but he couldn't match Waldner in placement or power.

@@dickn.ormous1064 Kong had definitely a more fluid footwork than Waldner, but Waldner outplayed him with placement and game-reading. What a genius

@@wirag4680 Waldner in his prime had incredible movement hitting running forehands around the net like it was nothing. He also had exceptional defence away from the table which takes good footwork and anticipation .In this match Waldner is 34.Linghui at 34 was a non entity.Linghui even lost to a young Timo Boll.Even the Chinese mocked Linghui saying he plays like an old man,he had limited success against power players and with the 40 mm ball his game collapsed.

@@dickn.ormous1064 Butthurt butthurt butthurt is causing you talking this ridiculous shit Mr. Short Dick. You can easily say "Waldner had limited success against Liu, Kong, Ma Lin" (which he really did). Even a guy that stupid like you cannot deny Kong had incredible footwork, reaction, backhand. He was also great at tactics and game reading. By the way what happend to Liu with the 40 mm ball? Did he achieve "not limited success" after 1999? What a stupid hater you are... god..

@@dickn.ormous1064 it's a pitty, Waldner serve is fault.. totally hidden and he benefited a lot from his serve. 🙈
