Peeling is really not necessary. 😅 I don't peel mine. Just cook them with Mandarin peels, no sugar added and a pinch of salt yet the finished product is so sweet!

In Tamizh it's called Atthi Pazham...it's very good for women. Haemoglobin increased in blood on regularly having this fruit.

@@Woodenspoon78 in monsoon states like kerala Coimbatore they have plantations of its tree. And its dry fruit is also quite healthy. Recipe: 1. 2 dry figs all nite soaked in water 2. Warm milk-1glass 3. Palm sugar-1 or 2 t.spoons (according to ur taste). Grind it in a mixture. Have it in the morning for 2twice a week. If diabetic avoid Palm sugar. Anaemic....!? Blood counts will improve.

This is the first time I'm seeing fig bushes instead of very tall and large fig trees. I want to grow this variety. Does anyone know the varietal name of this fig bush? I also make fig jam when I find the ones with pink to red inside pulp. I usually add ripe strawberries to make it more vibrant red color. My family loves it.

This fig grows in wild in Arunachal pradesh, India ,we eat this as time pass. we called it as " Tapang" . Bigger variety of this fig is called " Tapang ...Pate".
