When he said he was poor but not like homeless I felt that. It really shows that people have different perspectives based on what they have been through. Something that seems bad to one person may not seem as bad to another based on experience.

This is so true. I grew up in the projects in the Boston area and my mother used to work at this center that connected people with resources. One day I was in her office and outside were boxes of Captain Crunch stacked taller than young me. I knew what she did and that they would be free so I asked whether we could take some, and she looked at me and said, "No. We are not THAT poor." It was true. My parents always worked, we always had food and the lights on. Sometimes "Christmas missed us" in that we didn't get all the fancy bikes and Nintendos and what not, but we never needed the free Captain Crunch. That was for the people who were truly struggling.
@bayerhead2 жыл бұрын
@@keithmcmillan2752 that's a perfect example. My upbringing was twisted. I was the last of 4 kids and my father died in a car accident when I was 8 months old. He had life insurance and my mom used it to move into a better neighborhood so we could go to a better school. We were poor but we had clothes and food. I didn't even know my family was poor until around 5th grade when kids started telling me in a negative way. I didn't fit in at that school at all. Sometimes I feel like I would have been better off surrounded by kids that were like me but instead I was a black sheep. In turn, I've grown up and made a decent living for myself and my family. My kids are doing great in school and have never missed a meal. Now I see alot of people I grew up with having a hard time with life. I feel like all of my experiences has made me a stronger person and allows me to deal with problems a lot easier than these kids who had it easy because they never had to live without. It's interesting!

I have never heard anyone mention Rae shooting up Ghost's house by any members, lyrics, or in the books, only that they had beef. It's hard to imagine they could let something like that go back in the day at that time - or not bring it up in interviews later. It is most likely a plot device used to move the story forward quicker.
