So it all came down to this.
Yeah, I still have the nerve to keep uploading vids. Just... EHHHH LET ME HAVE THIS ONE.
I didn’t call the last one ( • "Wublin Island" Remix ... ) the final fixed version of this remix because I just planned ahead THAT well. Yep. Mhm! That’s just who I am! I knew Monculus was coming since 2017. My dad works at Big Blue Nintendo.
EDIT: I HAVE A FUNNY FEELING THIS ISN'T THE FINAL VERSION OF WUBLIN ISLAND... OHHH NO...
Monculus… MAN OH MAN you have no idea how big of a treat it is to see Wublin Island, perhaps the most fondly looked back on Island in MSM history and seeing it land (semi-expectedly) Monculus as its seasonal, a downright fan favorite Seasonal and for damn good reason. Ugh god what a soulful sounding melody he has going on this island.
I am a little sad about Life-Formula not being a Wublin season but when you think about it, it does work a bit better for ethereal lore wise, considering its background and its connections with mirror islands. (That piece of lore that just goes nowhere btw.) Regardless, it would be bonkers NOT to see the tie of Monculus and wublins. Don’t care much for ethereal island as a whole but HOT DAMN Monculus still does his best and it shows.
His animations for both islands are DRAMATICALLY better than his more stilted animation on shanty. VERY VERY much so. The movements absolutely take advantage of how the design is basically just a pile of rocks loosely keeping itself together along with somewhat zombie/robotic postures whilst singing. NOW THAT is how you do it.
Overall, Badass seasonal, got 2 Island debuts, sounds godly on both islands ONE OF THEM BEING WUBLIN ISLAND LIKE… OH YEAH DID I MENTION HOW FUCKING COOL IT IS TO SEE THIS LOVED ISLAND GET ANOTHER MONSTER 5 YEARS LATER? Like ugh god THAT’S SO COOL dude. Granted we have moments like… ethereal and sugabush BUT I’M FAR MORE HYPE OVER WUBLIN, CAN YOU TELL?
10/10. Would formulate lives again. This is the bee’s knees right here folks. I hope you appreciate miniscule touches I’ve done here and there to truly solidify this Seasonal’s place in this Soundtrack mix. Taking some inspiration from the Seasonal Shanty soundtrack mix in the process.
Keeping the bit that is in the 4th fixed version of this remix, I replaced Maulch and Fleech with the main man himself soloing at the end. It wasn’t needed the first time but eh why not this time?
Edit: You know what, listening to this again, god I have to stress how Monculus really gives the song quite a goosebump inducing kick. It really makes the song feel fresh to me again. 11/10 now.

Just to clarify for anyone who doesn’t know, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/itZjocqY077TdmQ.html the original soundtrack remix is by BBB. I simply added Pixolotl, Astropod, Monculus, Scargo, Bona-Petite, and Fleechwurm. And yes, indeed he absolutely rocks.

As time goes on, and new monsters get added to the existing songs, one of the toughest things about these “fixes” people make is making them feel like they were always there. Your “Fix” of the Wublin Soundtrack has always accomplished that, as well as doing the individual monsters greater justice. Having Fleechwurm duet with Pixolotl, smoothly transitioning into each other, for example. That fancy filter you put on Astropod. Maulch just kinda being great any way you spin it. And, of course, Monculus Rift. Cutting the track into two separate halves and using them differently, and having it claim the Whajje beat drop, and ohhhhh the startup gargle it does at the beginning. It deserves to sing more than it does in game, and it sure does here. Overall, even if it’s just tacked on to the song, you used some very good tacks. Although, as great as this is, I would certainly love to hear your own remix of the song again one day, as I always preferred it!

Ohhhh man, now that’s a LOT to unpack there. So much so that I feel i might as well make the description right here. Lmao. I will say, Mythical started out stronger than I ever could have hoped for. Had great additions early on, but this positive onlook has declined as of recent with Pinghound and Anglow as there is so much more that could be done with Ping, and anglow adding what sounds to be too harsh of noise for the island for both of his tracks.

@@BlakeAtStake Oh god, that’s right. Wheezle is an excellent design for a monster with an excellent sound that really fits its grotesque appearance. Amber... You know what..? I’ve grown to respect Amber Island. Literally EVERY VERSE THAT DOESN’T HAVE THAT TERRIBLE FLOOGUL/YELMUT/SOOZA TRIO actually sounds genuinely solid to me. It is however a (memes aside) “mid” song for this to be the finale/gold island of the Fire Monsters but ignoring that aspect, Amber island for all the wounds I’ve inflicted upon it has become a guilty pleasure of mine at the very end. That, and it can kinda sound badass in some moments of the song, ngl.

I actually enjoy amber a lot and I share the e same opinion with the floogull verse getting kind of mid. floogull is mixed very weirdly and maybe if they were louder it'd be better? not sure. on miscellaneous notes, do you plan to update the magical sanctum mix with carillong or do you think it's not worth it

@@BlakeAtStake You know what, I’m not too sure. At first I thought it wasn’t worth it in the slightest because of the generally alright reception it received, that and Mew over here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o6eEith62MrKhWg.html gladly added Carillong in there for me. (It’s all good, he’s cool.) All of these new seasonals actually does make me feel like I did miss out on not making remixes for Faerie/Psychic, light, etc, but honestly people have made more amazing mixes of them than I ever possibly could have. So in short, it seems like that kind of single addition is downright not happening in my book. Edit: Oh yeah and Clavavera on bone island. Not happening either. Ah well.
