I've read statements saying that Tetris has been slowed down compared to PPT1 in terms of how fast pieces can be set down, so it might not be just you.

With the reduced tetris speed, and the incremented damage of Puyo with hellfires, I'd say that yes, buyos are better now

That's because it is better in this game. Tetris got a speed nerf and now power chains do more damage, but I think that's only after at least a 5 chain iirc

@@ChewyFlyer I wouldn’t say puyo is better because there is still an insane curve when it comes to how the games fundamentally play against one another, but the difference for balancing is still kind of noticeable, if not just slightly inconvenient for the tetris player. The only real way to play against tetris is hellfires which isn’t how you would play puyo v puyo, so that’s where I’d call the skill curve the largest. Tetris just has to know t-spin setups to fire reasonable harassments at puyo

They did try buffing puyo a bit since playing high level puyo was practically impossible (or at least very rare) in ppt1. I think they sped up puyo drop speed a tiny bit and made the line clear take longer for tetris. Overall it was an alright effort to balance the games but there are inherent flaws in playing between the two games

@@thelastpresident1097 They slightly adjusted the speed of Tetris and power of puyo’s hellfire. Really all it does is make the setting much more balanced.
