This was a terribly underrated film. The performances were spot on, but Ralph Fiennes is without a doubt the best Heathcliff I have seen on film. He should have won an Oscar. And the beautiful music is an actor in the film itself.

Best version EVER, Of the novel "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Brontë. And the Soundtrack is the most amazing in every version. One of my 20 best movies and books.

Three versions really stand out to me: The Timothy Dalton, Tom Hardy, and Ralph Fiennes. The first one, Timothy Dalton, really is the best at sticking to the damned story, the Hardy version strayed FAR afield, but the acting was so great, and the Cathy so perfect, that it hardly mattered. Hardy caught the spirit of Heathcliff beautifully, cruelty and all. (So did Dalton.) And Fiennes . . . well, he can do no wrong in my eyes. Some day, I'd like to see the movie done in a really good serial format, where no expense was spared, the dialogue coming from the book almost verbatim, the costumes perfectly period appropriate throughout the life of the tale - consult the proprietor of Prior Attire for that - and all the characters, including the obtuse Mr. Lockwood, and the delightful Nelly, fleshed out appropriately. If I were a billionaire I would cheerfully finance this. :)

A história que eu conheço, o homem que tinha semelhança de temperamento do Heathcliff, após a morte estúpida da sua amada, ele se perverteu, casou com a assassina da sua amada, a fez sofrer, com inúmeras traições... ninguém lhe completava. Ninguém! Ele perdeu ele mesmo. E perdeu de novo...e sua amada do passado TB. Muito! Muito triste!
