Wow! I am crying like a baby. I am a grown man, almost fifty, I've spent 20 years in therapy and this is the best mental health experience I have ever had. These revelations have changed my entire world view. This is a healing balm, that I will watch again and again, until these beautiful messages penetrate and replace all of the negative thoughts that plague me daily. That galloping horse metaphor is so brilliant and it describes me perfectly, but not anymore. Thank you for your gifts of wisdom!

I have been exactly the trainwreck... being triggered badly because of abandonment trauma.. I have been listening to this channel for a week or so. It has been helping me through this difficult time of emotional pain. Thank you for your works!

I get very triggered and then I put walls up and push people away I’m a very sensitive person I know i need to learn self worth xx

I love this. I have been going down to the root of why I feel the way I do. I was always picked last in events in school at a young age or called fat, weird, etc. It has been my natural reaction to feel not good enough and lowest of lows. When those feelings come up now, I go back to the source and know it's not "me". I parent myself. I had to get sober after being an alcoholic so long for the inner work to begin. When I drank I couldn't help my inner child.

I found this really interesting as I don’t use the term triggered but realise I have spent my childhood trying to live up to my parents high standards and fearing their abusive critical behaviour and then took that into adulthood and realise I fear everyone else as though every employer , friend , partner , even my children are better than me and I fear upsetting them and making them angry as I view them as people in authority as though I’m still a child yet I’m 47. I realised a long time ago I live like a scared child in an adults body with my emotions controlling me of depression and anxiety , so sadness for the past and fear for the future. I am now trying to listen to your videos and mediations on inner child work as I have very low self esteem and lots of self doubt and didn’t realise til you explained that I’d given my power away to other people , I just assumed that was normal to feel inferior to other people and not good enough and strive in life to be better in all areas of my life yet never feel I am good enough. I have given up every job I’ve had due to feeling judged or feeling I’m not doing it well enough and I have not worked for 4 years now. I have let my strong negative emotions rule my life and thought I had no choice because of my mental health diagnosis of depression and anxiety with emotionally unstable personality disorder due to an emotionally neglected childhood but now I am realising I can try to challenge some of those wrong beliefs I’ve had all my life and try to act like a compassionate adult to myself , not an angry bully of an adult that is just repeating what my parents did or said to me. I wish I could get brave and make friends , get a party time job and be confident in just a few short weeks of listening to your videos but I guess I’ve had 47 years of negativity so I have to be more patient and be grateful just that I can leave the house now to go outside without so much fear or panic attacks. I have never really felt happy in my life as I never felt I deserved it or it would last so I would love to know if their are ways I can feel more happy despite all the negative things going on in my life presently or move on from past upsetting things and stop worrying about what might happen to my adult sons. And I’d love to feel carefree and have fun as I was never allowed to as a child so don’t really know how to as an adult.

I feel honoured to have come across your wisdom, the golden thread process has really helped me understand my emotions and build a deeper connection with myself . I wanted to ask what it means when you do not get a clear answer when doing the golden thread process, for one certain situation I find it hard to discover the root cause. Otherwise, thank you for sharing such wonderful light always

You don't need to pinpoint a precise time or situation in your childhood but it helps if you can (we talk about this in our new video out this weekend - Life Lesson # 115), often it just requires patience and persistence as your inner child can need time to open up and speak. x

When they say "it's easier" I guess they mean easier like not doing the dishes: The short term benefit hides the long term pain.

@@tristanconvert Think about how you will feel about yourself and the situation after the dishes are done. And that even doing the dishes is pleasant. It is the *thinking* of how you need to do the dishes that is painful.

How do we interpret when you feel jealous of someone who radiates and takes up all the energy in the room and there are actions that show she is better. For instance some woman who is beautiful gets the attention of the bartender and now I cannot get a drink because all the attention is in her. And then she wants to take the party to another place and everyone wants to please her and go instead of staying like I want to. So she is getting her way and I am not because she is determined to be more beautiful and radiant than me, how do I not compare myself to her when the world bows down before her and ignores me?

I agree with most of what you are saying. It's definitely helpful. But I have questions. Is there room for a medical model of psychiatry in these ideas as well? For example if someone has schizophrenia something within their mind has gone haywire and their control of their own mind is limited. They did not choose to start hearing voices, seeing things etc.

The life lesson in this video is that others dont trigger you, but you are the one pulling your own gun. So A (the event) happens... then investigate your beliefs about the event. “Why did I choose to create an emotion when A happened? What is it I believe about what happened?” .. some of the many inquiring questions you can ask yourself 😊
