The French factory is Manurhin. They produced identical pistols to the P38 but were renamed P1. Years ago when I was in the South African Police and later the British South Africa Police (Rhodesia), it was my service weapon.

Did you trust it as an every day ser ice weapon? It seemed like a well made pistol, but this one was a safe queen so I couldn't shoot it as much as I would like.

@@RattlesnakeDefense Never had a stoppage using military ball ammo. It was a reliable pistol. The P38 is valuable, the P1 not so much.

I have my grandfather's p38. It hasn't been fired for at least 80+ years. It's in great condition, and I would like to fire it with my son for the first time. I have heard it's good to be cautious about the rounds to use. What do you use?

Wrong I own a 1938 FB Radon made in Poland with German proof marks so what do you have to say about that 0h in 9mm
