Even though the battle itself is important from dutch viewpoint, in itself it really eas just a sideshow, so with their limited resources (especially what they had back then) i think it was a good idea zo leave it out. Overall this period with the early stages of barbarossa are between the most intense part of the war, so i hope that when at the end they will make something to deliver a lot of important details missed in the rush.

I wished it was. Very informative to see in-real-time on maps. Same wish for the attack on the Moerdijk-bridges, Dordrecht- and Rotterdam which spans four days. There is a lot written, but nothing really easily visualised.

@@suisso14 It's more an issue of trying to cut out all the stuff from the episode that doesn't pertain to the map/military movement, when some deliveries are referencing other stuff and so it comes off really weirdly. I wish he had narrated it for this video, even if more vaguely

For example, he talks about how Japan is making advances but all of a sudden says that China is now retaking territory, or when he talks about Lithuania signing a mutual assistance pact and then immediately jumps to the Winter War without stating the reasons.

I think the video illustrates nicely that Finland lost the war, you can see how the Mannerheim line is crumbling, Soviets could have swept into Helsinki if they were dedicated and would have taken an extra month, but that wouldnt have been worth the loss in resources. Furthermore no number says Finland killed 200 thousand Russians. Official numbers are 48,745-167,976 dead or missing. With a lot of deaths due to disease and frostbite due to the shoddy Russian logistics and extreme cold. My great grandfather died in the winter war. And I get slightly insulted when people talk about how epic the KD ratios were. war is not about how much people you kill. And killing a lot of enemies is not an end in itself. Finland lost the war plain and simple. And after that we allied with the axis to take our land back and a lot more people died and we lost even more land. When people learn about Finland in ww2 and think its "epic" they are looking at an extremely traumatic losing war for Finland and making it into a meme

@G E T R E K T He did not show that the USSR had been at war with Japan since the spring of 1939, and it was only when the war with Japan ended, the USSR entered Poland.

Chinese units were far smaller than Japanese units. IIRC a Chinese division often only had 5,000 to 6,000 men, compared to the 20,000+ men of a Japanese division.
