In this episode, we redo our overview of Nazi Party Leader Pistols. Tom shares new information and beautiful examples of the RZM, Honor Weapon, and Black Honor Weapon variations - all Walther PPK's. Tom also shares more information about the differences between them, who would have had them, how those people could acquire them, and why people joined the Nazi Party in Germany during WW2. He also discusses some additional, yet somewhat controversial, variations of these Walther pistols.

My dad was an MP sergeant in Patton's Third Army. He was very busy handling the German POW's in the Battle of the Bulge and the closing days of the war. He confiscated a PPK Party Leader from a German officer. My brother has it to this day. Serial number is 978346 It has a typical brown grip with the winged emblem and a black holster. ..

Another reason for the 60 deg safety is that the safety cylinder does not get milled out as much on a 60 degree and this makes for a stronger cylinder in general... I think, as I was told this by a collector that I bought mine from years ago. I haven't been able to see the milled areas to compare. For this reason, it is important not to dry fire a 90 degree safety version as it is more likely to crack the safety cylinder which goes through the slide. I wouldn't dry fire any of them for that matter. In my opinion the 60 degree allows for less travel to disengage as well which is quicker to fire. Great videos.

thank you Tom for this fascinating work. i wonder, and apologies if this has already been asked/answered, if you've ever had the opportunity to see and catalog the PK that Dick Winters famously received when a German officer offered it up as his personal surrender when the war ended. thank you again for this important historical work!

Very informative video, learned a lot! Tiny correction: Hugo Boss didn't design the uniforms but manufactured them, the designers were SS-Oberführer Karl Diebitsch and Walter Heck (a graphic designer who was also responsible for the Sig-Runes logo of the SchutzStaffel). Keep up the good work, would love to see a video on different branches of the German WW2 army like the kriegsmarine or Luftwaffe or maybe a top 5 of the best WW2 pistols. Thanks!

Possibly comparing the tan party grips to the black party grips, microscopically, would help seal the deal on authenticity. One would believe that the same molds were used for both colors, given they were made in the same factory.

In trying to establish a fair price for a RZM marked PPK a friend has, I found you. Your "secret sauce" list of SN's shows RZM starting with 8198**. The pistol I'm looking at bears SN 8062** which clearly falls outside the range shown in the spreadsheet. The barrel and slide show the "crown N". Bluing is 75-80%. Cracks appear on both grip screw locations with the left grip crack extending ~.5". Any information concerning authenticity and value. My Blue Book is too old to be of value. Thank you. Philip

As a PP, PPK/S owner, I've been watching a few LC videos and his fascination and enthusiasm with Nazi - Party leader owned Walther's is a bit perplexing. Out of all the Walther pistol production, why would you own anything related to Nazi's? Hasn't it been well documented how evil they were? I have a first production year 1952 France made Manurhin PP and the fit and finish is on par if not better than many of the 1945 and earlier German Walther's not France's position during Hitler's ethnic cleansing goal.
