I have seen a lot of Jeep video's, but never one that focused so thoroughly on all the kit & appurtenances that went with them. I really appreciate the effort you went to to bring this to us, and your jeep looks great! Thank you for sharing.

15:03 - With the top on and windshield completely fogged / wet with dew or frost it is quick and easy to open the 'windscreen' inner frame outward (may be done from driver's seat) for unobstructed forward view. Otherwise one must remove and stow top prior to folding down entire 'windscreen' and frame assembly. I did this just last night in my Willys MB.

Greetings from Tasmania, Australia. Nice example. I have a ‘44 GPW with 30 cal mount and original siren as mine is set up as an MP Jeep. I have been enjoying your videos.

Great looking Jeep! I have a 1946 CJ2A which is spec’d about 98% the same. I do occasionally tilt the windshield while driving because putting it completely down is not always practical (wind noise is pretty intense at speeds above 30 mph!).

Thanks. I would love a CJ2A in its original civilian config. They are really cool. My Jeep is currently having alot of work done. I jsut finished a full rewire :D

The glass tilts out so that when you have the canvas roof on you can have an opening that you can shoot through.
@Truffle1947
@Truffle1947 11 ай бұрын
It was just dont for airflow. You shoot through that you are still going to shoot the glass when bobbing about 😁🤔

Many U.S passenger cars of the pre WW2 period had the same feature. Far more common usage was / is to _see_ through. With the top on and windshield completely fogged / wet with dew or frost it is quick and easy to open the 'windscreen' inner frame outward (may be done from driver's seat) for unobstructed forward view. Otherwise one must remove and stow top prior to folding down entire 'windscreen' and frame assembly. I did this just last night in my Willys MB.

Its a feature because if you have the roof on & desire fresh direct air...... Well..... There ya go. Cant fold it down with the roof up.

Yeah I know. But Jeeps dont lack airflow at the best of times 😂

Quick and ready forward visibility if top is on and windshield (screen) becomes fogged, muddy, shattered... . The inner frame can be easily opened from the driver's seat. I just used the w/s on my Willys MB in that fashion last night. Windshield was completely fogged, top on. Wiping w/s was ineffective, opened inner frame (which I usually have open about 'four fingers' at the bracket) fully for unobstructed forward view.

you dont fold the windshield or windscreen all the way open. you only fold it open enough so some wind can get under it to cool you off. It will still get the bugs and stones that get kicked up.

The adjusting arms (bits that hold the windshield out) have a large detent slot at the furthest limit of travel for the specific purpose of locking the inner frame completely open (glass parallel to hood). With the top on and windshield completely fogged / wet with dew or frost it is quick and easy to open the 'windscreen' inner frame outward (may be done from driver's seat) for unobstructed forward view. Otherwise one must remove and stow top prior to folding down entire 'windscreen' and frame assembly.

great video. very nice jeep. i like all those quirky amenities (oil can air pump etc) ive never seen the bustle before. is it a field modification or regulation?
@Truffle1947
@Truffle1947 2 жыл бұрын
Hi. Thanks. The bustle racks are all field mods. They came in many shapes and sizes but the most common style was similar to my reproduction on here. But I have seen them twice the size, different shapes, some metal some wooden. I even saw a photo of one that was just made from a house door a solider had pulled off a building!

Great video , beautiful jeep , Question ... Your bustle rack .... what length are the straps Holding it to the corner grab rails ? and if possible can you remember where you got them ? , i've just bought a Bustle rack for my MB and havn't got the straps for it . Any help much appreciated .

@Truffle1947 7 ай бұрын
Hi. Thanks. Glad you like the Jeep. I need to do an update to this video really 😁 My bustle rack came with the straps already fitted. What you could do is get something like the pair of straps that are used to store the canvas Jeep under the passenger seat and do a little bit of adjustment to get the mounted on the bustle? Or solider of fortube sells a generic us vehicle strap that would definately do the job? They would be my firsts thoughts 😊

What are the other 2 stalks for next to the shifter for?
@Truffle1947
@Truffle1947 2 жыл бұрын
They are the transfer case levers. One goes from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive. The other goes from hi range to low range effectively giving a jeep 6 forward gears and 2 reverse gears. But you can only go into the low range in 4 wheel drive.
