pro tip:- Nuclear weapons aren't real. And even if they were, they won't actually use them. Cities will probably go bang and/or burn, but it won't be nuclear. Instead of nukes it'll be sabotage of vital infrastructure - from within and without. Have water supply and a means to filter it yourself. Stored food, Heat that doesn't require the grid, and a store of diesel for your vehicle and/or a decent bicycle. Also be well away from big cities and in particular large areas populated with outsiders. It'll be humans that are dangerous, and foreigners will be most dangerous. Maybe buy a decent air rifle for small game hunting if you're fortunate to be in the countryside.
