Yes, the AI is hands down the best in an wwe game. I don’t even remember the AI going to the top rope . But in this game, it happens probably everytime.

This has definitely been the most fun simulation game I have played in years. The last time I’ve had this much fun was 2K14. It’s such a perfect mix of arcade and realism, and I love that. Yeah, this game isn’t perfect, obviously, and yeah it has a lot of bugs but at least nothing too destructive like 2K20. I hope 2K improves from this and makes future games even better with improvements.

Every WWE game series has that one or more standout game(s) where everything comes together in a beautiful package. For the Smackdown Series it was Shut Your Mouth and Here Comes The Pain. For Smackdown vs Raw it was 2006 and 7. For the WWE series (WWE 12-2K14) it was 2K14. For the WWE2K series it's this game. 2K19 was good, but not great although it did have a better Roster. This is the first WWE game since 2K14 that I would call great even though it does have it's flaws. After playing alot of older Wrestling Games I honestly I thought I would never go back to 2K. Props to them for pulling out a banger.

I actually liked the GM mode. Sure it's short and not as fleshed out as the older gm modes. That said it was easy for me to build rivalries and host some bad ass ppv's. That said they could have done more with gm mode. My faction on the other hand could been kept out.

I think a really cool thing they can do that would make GM Mode super realistic is allowing you to have 2 additional slots for matches and promos for Raw since it’s a hour longer than the other shows

I've barely played matches, just been having fun with all the stuff we can customize. It sucks that alternate attires take up a created wrestler roster slot but you can add 2 in-ring and entrance attires so it's not that bad. I took Eddie's Halloween Havoc attire and it made it his alternate attire for the more current version of the him, and I'll do the same for Rey Mysterio once I finish the showcase. The showcase is also amazing too, the presentation is incredible My only complaint is that it takes forever to scroll through move lists when customizing movesets cause you can only jump ahead to different letters

This is the game I wanted them to make years ago. It feels so good to play and I love how pin falls and submissions are handled now. It’s way better than previous games. Hopefully going forward they tweak it a bit more as matches can boil down to pressing y a lot and end up just going back and forth with nothing really happening.

I love this game, hands down I haven't even been able to put this game down since last Tuesday when I got it. The whole week I've been smashing out playing it! This is the best WWE game since 2K14, it actually feels and plays like Here Comes The Pain Remastered.

It would be cool in next years game if tag teams can do finishers at any time using RB+Y or R1+Triangle instead of just in a tag team corner; especially if the other tag team partner is not out of the ring or knocked down. It would also make Tornado Tags more unique as well. If they could implement tag team Table Finishers or Tag Team Table moves or off Ladders, it would take the game to a new level next season.

I actually had this pre ordered but haven't played yet, I'm glad to see the game is getting praised, makes me want to finally hop on it!

My childhood was filled with me constantly playing WWE SvR games on my psp, and All Stars, I played WWE ‘13, and the last WWE I played before my long break from wrestling games was 2k14. When I got my hands on 2k22 it took me back to those PSP days especially SvR 2011 in a way, I’m addicted to MyRISE, and I love the showcase, the ability to download missing wrestlers, and much more to do

Yeah the gameplay on 2k22 is on point man. Like HCTP and no mercy mixed together in a modern wrestling game. There are so many bugs and crashes though when you start using community creations. If they can sort the bugs and crashes this could be one of the very best wrestling games of them all.

Didn't play 2k20 so I'm not sure if it was like this before but I love how you have to do some punch combos to do certain grapples. Having to hit X A A B to do a powerbomb for just my one character is so much more fun and it makes it seem more real.

I like how the game looks , breathtaking entrances and advanced gameplay . The only thing that brings down the game is the creation suite , advanced entrances being taking out , the awkward controls and limited GM mode . I still like it though but I'm still using 19 .

I bought it today and OMG I AM IN LOVE IT IS SO GOOD the gameplay is silky smooth, the showcase is beautiful and the only major problem is the busted ass gm mode simulation they would have fandago vs erik in the main event and it would be a 5 star classic then you would have randy orton vs drew mcintyre for the title in a hell in a cell match and it would be “mediocre”

I really hope they patch myGM and allow more options like Triple Threat and Fatal Four Way matches. We can't even have normal ladder matches. I am definitely enjoying the mode, but it could be so much more.

Dude I just got off this game and I'm here to tell you this is by far top 3 wrestling games I've ever played, if not the BEST I've ever played, so refreshing with better animations, graphics, modes, match types, it's all good and what we've been waiting to get for years.

I have such a different prospective on 2k20. I never played the game at launch. I got it more than a year after release. The state of the game was fine for me when I actually got to play it. Guess I was lucky that I didn’t play what most people did.

I love this game so much. Having a lot of fun playing it. Yes, some features are missing but boy is it fun to play. The graphics and textures are chef’s kiss.

I was very happy when this came out!! I LOVE the new menu’s and I’m happy they have the 2000s Mysterio theme! The gameplay is pretty good (still getting used to the controls of course) and the AI gives you a hard time I am definitely making a video on this!!

There's actually exclusive characters in MyFaction and MyRise you get to play with like Retro Triple H, Godfather, Mankind, Retro Hardy etc, so it's not really the same characters you get in the normal game.

Good review however I feel Universe mode should be covered more. Universe mode should be the MAIN MODE in the game. All these other miscellaneous modes like MyFaction and GM Mode could easily be taken out to add value to Universe mode. Perhaps add the GM and social media aspect into Universe Mode. I will say that the Career/MyRise mode is the best that 2K has ever done. I wish those same branching storylines could be brought over to Universe Mode. Superstar mode is disappointing. Everything you can do in the curation menu can be done in classic mode as well. The only thing that the superstar mode really does, that it doesn't do in classic mode, is show you your wrestler's record and simulate all the other matches for you. Theoretically, you can do the same thing in 2K19 if you wanted to play with just one superstar. You would just have to manually simulate the other matches on the match card for each show. The cut scenes seem the same in classic mode and superstar mode. I don't see any cohesion in the cut scenes in Superstar Mode for the superstar you wrestle with. Similar to 2K19, you just get the random, canned cut scenes that play out, with no rhyme or reason. And I've only noticed a couple more different cut scenes compared with what they had 2K19 but most of the cut scenes seem much the same as it was in 2K19. Superstar mode could be much better if they made it like No Mercy where based on the belt/division you're in, you would have branching storylines that play out based on the choices you make and how matches play out. I think in Superstar mode whereas, in classic mode, it wouldn't be hard to incorporate branching storylines. Also, there is no ability to do promos at alll!!! Haven't fans been asking for enhanced promos for a long time?!!? I'd rather have them remove GM Mode and of course MyFaction (I've yet to see any reviews that speak highly of it) to make room for a better promo feature. Maybe even make the MyCareer/MyRise mode more like 2K19 so they can put more resources towards Universe mode. Whoever recommended the MyFaction mode at 2K needs to never work in this industry again!! If they beef up Universe Mode, no doubt 2K23 (or the next iteration) game goes down to be even better than Here Comes the Pain and No Mercy.

after your review, i kinda regret selling this game. yes, i sold it less than a week after playing because the showcase was very underwhelming. I am a sucker for showcase that's why I kept 2k16, and 2k19. If only the path of the warrior was still purchasable, I'd buy 2k15. plus, another turn off was they didn't have 90s hbk. yeah we can download it, but it feels different if he was a default character anyway, great review. I also binged on your SvR game reviews and they made me appreciate those games more

I agree this is the best 2k game. Even though my gm mode needs a lot of work I’m glad it’s back and my faction is pointless anyway. Myrise, the animations, to just about everything else is great. Yeah there are glitches but nothing compared to past 2k games. They did work on this game for 2 years and you can tell. Now for the next game just continue to improve upon it.

Just got it and honestly it’s honestly the most fun I’ve had on a wrestling game since svr 11. Once you get the hang of it and up the difficulty it’s an absolute blast.

Yea this game is actually pretty damn good so far. I like how from what i can remember its the first created character with a latino accent since like saints row 2. Its so freaking weird year after year they just have white or black(american)sounding character when latinos are a huge market for pro wrestling. So it legit made me happy i could make a legitimate latino wrestler for the first time in forever. Also i love how in handicap situations the 2 v 1 is legit. Like i be getting clapped from the back and from the front while trying to counter one move only to get hit by the other while trying to do so. I get some might find it irritating but its how a 2v1 situation should be. The 1 getting they ass beat unless they can put the other away for a short bit.

The card thingy was a thing in 2k for a long time. Nba 2k has this and can get actually fun

All I can say is that the game still has a lot of bugs but despite that, the game is a lot of fun to play. So I mean if it's fun, it's fun. 2k22 is the game for sures.

MyRise is for sure the best mode but in my experience playing MyGM, I still had a blast even with the limitations.

So this is my first WWE game since, SmackDown vs Raw 2009. I just stopped watching it when I turned 15, I started going out more and just stopped playing WWE games. I bought WWE 2K22 on release day and I do like playing it, BUT it’s not like SVR to me, I remember putting in hours creating my character, my entrance and moves! Now it just seems so simple, and not arcadic feeling like SVR, I miss all the camera angles when you hit a finisher move. With that being said, I have been enjoying the game but I have no idea who a majority of these wrestlers are 😂 I just been using the OGs lol

I just finished up completing the Rey Mysterio Showcase to 100% aka completing the first 11 matches via doing all of the objectives and unlocking the true final match the "bonus match" which is The Mysterios vs. Seth Rollins and Murphy at Payback 2020 and completing that match via completing the objectives to unlock Seth Rollins during his Messiah gimmick, Murphy's 2020 attire, Rey's Blue and Red Eyepatch attire, the Payback 2020/Thunderdome arena, and Dominik Mysterio as a playable superstar. And I love this game and while it did take some getting use to the new control scheme aka playing 5 matches in Play/Exhibition Mode and completing the new Tutorial and after getting used to it the new controls actually felt fast paced, and smooth. Only bug/glitch I had so far was in Showcase mode where during the initial interview where Rey is introducing the match it would freeze up for a few seconds before resuming like nothing happened other then that the game ran and played smoothly with no other bugs/glitches, and no other issues.

I'm hoping they take 2 years off again this was great, only complaint is gm mode. It has great core gameplay but it's not fleshed out like no midcard titles or only 3 matches, I feel like this might all get fixed down the line but it isn't gonna be free if you get me. Story mode was great but it feels sooooo forced like everyone was held at gunpoint to speak their lines and those lines were inorganic which is a shame because it has great storylines other than that. they also took out some stuff for like no reason which is upsetting . Can't believe I'm saying this but good job 2k and I'm looking forward to 2k23 improving on these things

I took out all the extra sound tracks and only have entrance music as my menu music bc I started on wwe 13 and I remember all the entrance music and having that in this game is abit of a throwback to me
