I’m so happy that 2K fixed the random person inserted into the match glitch because it was such a nightmare in 2K22 and 2K23 💯

We need to be more vocal about Universe Mode. Like nobody shut up about double title enterences and matches and 2k listened, we need to make it clear WE NEED a refresh for universe mode.

Being able to pick the the opponent during rivalries is actually huge for me. I feel like it'll make booking was more fun and easier

While there are lot of thing improved, Not getting the multi-man rivalries is a miss.

I think the universe should bring the same feeling again as in WWE 12 or 13 combined with the season mode from Smackdown 2 know your role. Rivalries where you can't immediately tell whether it's a rivalry match or not, promos, backstage cutscenes, branching cutscenes, manager storylines, etc.

We need promos,contract signings, backstage interviews with brawl options, multi man rivalries, GM mode merged into universe mode.

Dude, this is a total L. We still don't get promos, show intro, or the city/state template at the beginning of our show? That alone makes my decision. If I can't make good universe mode content, then it's a waste of money to me 🤷 and how tf am i supposed to do that when they won't put BACK IN basic tv sh*t? Lol I'll pass

To piggy-back off of that being able to set universe mode to a blank default, I’d really love to be able see a show grow from nothing. Running a small promotion out of small venues with scattered empty seats & growing it to packed arenas/stadiums

you dont know how important a show intro is until you see the smackdown 99 match screenup and intro in wwe 2k17. i get hype every time

You're honestly one of my favorite channels. I remember following you when you had close to 2k followers lol. I said to myself "I like his energy and approach" and im proud to see how far youve come and most deservedly. I can't lie...the main and only thing i want most in Universe mode is some form of story designer or at least promos. You said it perfectly, alot of wwe programming consists of promos so to mot have any kind is insane. I definitely understand the devs are on very limited time constraints yearly...but its still frustrating not to see some form of the type of story building

That you can select the "third person" now in Universe mode for all the rivalry things is honestly not just a small thing, that is huge, cause it seriously ruined the whole mode for me last year. It made no sense that I couldn't select the opponents for the matches I want to interfere in, it was so stupid. Thanks god they overhauled that, that is a huge win.

WWE 12 still had the best universe for me. I don't want to have every aspect of my rivalry meticulously known and planned out. I don't want to see or pick what happens with the cutscenes every time. I don't want only a handful of matches to be capable of having rivalries and scenes and everything else be nothing. I want a living, breathing, universe to play in and enjoy. Like a never ending story mode with rivalries and rankings that change over time and evolve on their own. I want to be able to watch it all unfold or just play one scrub character and just have them experience it with me interfering here and there when I want to nudge the universe in a direction or two. Just give me an awesome world that emerges around me and let me have fun in it, I don't need all this other stuff, make two universes, one for people who want control and manage every aspect and one for people who just ant to enjoy a great ride and story.

I'm fine with the minor improvements. I was hoping for more arenas and PPV's from different brands such as WCW and ECW. I wanted Thunder in there or ECW Hardcore TV. Especially since we have a ECW and WCW pack

agree! would love a blank template of Universe Mode as our choice also would love to have complete freedom with universe mode as in creating new themes for custom PPVs...like a PPV dedicated to Cage Matches like it should be a template that we can use also would be awesome to pick any day as a PLE and not just sundays

Bro is such a pro. He’s a real creator. The energy is obvious…he’s underwhelmed. Yet he delivered the information objectively. I think most of us expected this. I’m lowkey hoping that the QOL improvements of MyGM make a big difference, but we’ll see. Gameplay and new match types are the bigger focus with this entry, and I’m not mad at it. The panning in A.I matches is a gold mine for me, because I like making my own custom trons and this is going to make them look SO MUCH BETTER AND SMOOTHER!!!

The substitution fix is going to come SO in clutch for us content creators. Can’t tell ya how many times I’ve had to just go with the flow when a random Omos or Luke Gallows showed up as my rivals opponent 😂😂

So glad they changed the random superstar appearance during a rivalry. It makes a huge difference! I'm bummed that there's nothing overly new though, however I still will undoubtedly pump hours into this mode.

I hope Superstar Mode is actually good, unlike last time where it would just continue to put you in the same match over and over.

I just hope that rivalries will now end after the PPV, instead of having to eliminate them manually

I fully understand the disappointment in regards to the rivalry slot. Other than that, I'm looking forward to playing universe mode as soon as I buy a copy of WWE2K24 next Friday on launch day.

They should incorporate branching options with the cut scenes let the player choose paths in universe mode. And perhaps pre recorded promo audio. Most of the cut scenes half no audio (besides the commentary) 2k should do what Rock star does with the radio stations. A bunch of pre recorded promos for universe mode would be awesome. Also with the option for us to create our own. Perhaps with A.I the created promos can have A.I audio speech would be a clever feature.

Hopefully I can just play the mode as is and have fun. Hopefully commentary is updated for universe mode. Even just commentary recaps for PLEs would be awesome or something similar to the older SVR games where there was breakdown by Lawler and JR that listed all the things that led up the ppv just to give it that special feeling. PLEs should feel more special than a random Raw or Smackdown and currently it just feels like another random show.

Being able to create your own custom made matchup screen for your show would be a refreshing and much needed addition to the freedom with in the mode of universe mode. To be able to fully make a show your own and have that match up screen , your way, I think a lot of AEW,njpw etc. fans very happy in the mode

Ya know, the last time I played Universe Mode was on the WWE Day of Reckoning games on Nintendo GameCube. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t called Universe Mode back then but that’s the last time I played it. I’m gonna play it this year to see if I like it. If it has the same elements that those games back then had, this game’s Universe Mode will probably be nostalgic to me. I’m not gonna go back and play WWE 2K23’s Universe Mode because I wanna go in with a clean slate…just like this year’s superstar ratings.

I think Universe Mode, Create an Arena, Create a Championship, & Create a Show are the 4 modes that need massive updates. Every other area of the game is pretty much in a good place and could maybe at this point, just use QOL updates over massive overhauls. Universe Mode needs all of these you've mentioned Matt, but I also think it should include stuff from the old GM mode in the SvR games. Sending your superstar to do cool stuff like shoot films, retire, etc would have a really cool dynamic to rivalries, especially if we got a faction vs faction rivalry. Create An Arena - has needed an overhaul for years now. We should be able to edit in-game arenas, have arena parts from previous shows/arenas in game, etc. New venue options, ability to hang ring banners, remove arena parts (not just 1 or 2 parts), add multiple parts to ALL aspects of the arenas. Create a Show - we should have access to more than just arenas show gfx that we get for that year's iteration in the series. If not have every single show/PLE graphics package, then at least all of them for RAW, SmackDown & NXT. That includes nameplates, show intros, etc. We also should be able to edit those. Create a Championship - we should be able to basic relief parts to use as a base instead of having to download them from CC.

Universe Mode almost feels like WWE2K's equivalent of FIFA's Pro Clubs mode. It's the mode that get's the least love every year but is the mode that the people want to see get the most love every year. Hopefully 2K Give it a massive overhaul in 2K25 but I do hate that we will possibly have to wait that long for a nice and fleshed out experience with what is probably their best mode.

They need to allow us import our caws from previous ones also

In the previous two games, auto-booking was not only absolute garbage (tag team matches pitting members of the same tag team against each other, random-ass main events), but the match card would change every time you exited and re-entered the mode, effectively forcing you to manually book the entire show, which turned the mode into a colossal chore. Has the auto-booking gotten more stable since the last couple editions?

It's really just a cleaned up and updated 2k23. Rivalry actions and match type additions are very big additions imo. I will definitely be playing more universe this year

I love universe mode but I get burnt out on it super fast. I wish they would make some kind of huge change on it to make it more replayable.

It feels like they don't really add as much interaction as I want. Being able to run in on any match I want to either support or go against someone. More uses for allies and enemies. Personalities actually being acknowledged and used by your characters for decisions or even in cutscenes that may affect what happens next in superstar mode. More developed and interactive storyline. And so on.

Universe mode is still very underwhelming, my biggest thing was rivalries being boring. I set two superstars to rival each other and they will have a match everyday

The only reason they don't do the PLE/PPV on Saturdays or both is because it takes away a show option. You'd only be left with Monday-Friday which is still alot but it takes away from some people so I understand why 2k don't do that.

I think for a while now, Universe has needed to be something between what we currently have and MyGM. Universe mode needs to be some form of hybrid between the two, or just merge the two entirely into something new. MyWorld or som’

3 thing I wanted. The ability to do 2 show a night, the ability to have Saturday and Sunday ple. And the ability to go after all available title on your show.

I am a returning fan of WWE from the ruthless aggression days who recently has reinvested into the product. I have been a bit out of touch with the wrestling games pretty much since the Smackdown vs Raw days on the PS2. This mode has me very intrigued and even though for many of you, it seems to be very similar to previous games, it is new to me. With that being said, I still think I have some valuable insight on what would make OVER THE MOON with a mode like this. - INTROS When I was watching SD or Raw back then, the intros followed by Jerry and JR or Michael Cole and Taz set the tone for the evening SO WELL. Intros would be a small but effective touch to the overall presentation of the mode. - PROMOS I’ve seen a few of you mention this one already but seeing your favorite superstars cook on the mic to promote rivalries and story lines was just as (if not more) entertaining as the wrestling itself. Adding the ability to create and watch promo cutscenes for your shows would be an incredible addition.. - RIVALRIES This is another topic that I’ve seen addressed by some of you but faction rivalries/multi person rivalries would be epic. Overall, it seems to me that this mode has an INCREDIBLE amount of untapped potential and it just needs to be much deeper. take for example what NBA2k has done with their franchise mode over the years… That mode is SO deep and you can manage just about every aspect of owning an NBA team in it. WWE2K needs to create a much deeper experience and invest into this mode for next year

I am also really glad they fixed the random person issue. That was a big issue for me in 23. I had a rivalry between Goldberg and hogan, and the thing picked cactus jack as a substitute, which made no sense at all, and it drives me crazy. I’m glad they addressed that. My question is, did they put the tournament mode/match in this year, because I wanted one for my universe, but it has been unavailable.

No surprise it’s still missing feuds beyond 1v1 and 2v2. They would have said it by now. At least they addressed the random wrestler inserting to the match, being able to pick at least allows you to kind of do a feud with a faction

I just want a universe mode where i can set up an entire universe from scratch (custom shows, custom stars, custom titles, custom EVERYTHING) and then i can kind of just turn it loose and enjoy the ride once I've set it all up

For 2k25 i hope they merge GM mode & universe mode (call it universal Gm) where you have all mechanics of gm mode but custom shows, customs titles, custom titantrons, show intro, promo selection. That would be “best for business”

Great insight Assemble. I wholeheartedly agree with the improvements you have suggested. I’d love backstage segments/promos/cut scenes. I’m hoping they leave last gen behind soon and really unleash the power of next gen.

One of my big hopes this year for universe mode is that the random attire option works on your superstars again. In 2k22 you could pick the random option on the attire section on your superstars in universe mode. Then in 2k23 it worked for the first few months then just stopped. So hopefully it works again in 2k24 because i love the option to have it randomly choose my attire cus sometimes i dont remember to go in and change it before a match. Another small but big thing imo.

We NEED to be able to import our roster/ tag teams from exhibition. It’s extremely tedious setting up tag teams and entrances!

for 2k25 showcase do roman, cody, seth or drew. cover star do multiple stars from each brand. and as far as in game stuff they should just strictly work on universe/gm modes. they gave us a bunch of new stuff this year so just carry it all over and make the main focus about universe/gm. hopefully by 2k26 these games should be flawless lol. still cant wait to play 2k24 tho the hype is unreal 5 1/2 days left!!

I wished they had brought back the internet connection to universe mode like they did in 2k18 , that was so cool.

One thing i wished universe mode allowed is just a clean slate for each show yk, Like no matches booked let me create the whole card without having to edit matches or delete the boring ones already booked.

thank god the referee doesn't change during universe cutscenes anymore. i hope the match types we pick work for rivalry action matches as well as managers.

Thanks for the video. Great details. Did you notice if when you are selecting superstars when creating a match or changing participants if it shows what show they are on? For example, if Cody is on Raw and you are setting up a match on Smackdown, does it either not allow you to select him as a participant or show that he is on Smackdown? Sometimes it's hard to keep track of what show people are on in Universe (especially in the midcard), so I am hoping they added this.

I didn’t use the rival system at all because the whole inserting a random opponent thing, so this is a huge thing for me. It’s disappointing that what they do with universe nowadays is just fix bugs from the previous years which could’ve been patched in and add in minor features and market them as huge innovations for the mode.

They should just make it so when you create a show on the calendar on any day of the week you have the option of either making it a weekly show or a PLE. Would make it a lot more flexible for people creating their own universes

I love that you can swap out the stars you want in the cutscenes

Our Universe Mode Wishlist -Multi-man Rivalries (3-man, 4-man, Handicap, and Faction) -Promos -Reset Universe (Reset all stats, shows, and PLEs) -Lingering damage for the show (Announce tables/barricades staying broken throughout a show)

I wish they would add in the future sim like in NBA 2K my league. Let's say you would want to sim 20 years in the future in universe mode and the more you sim it starts to generate random caws into the universe mode each year you sim. I feel like this would be a cool feature as you would be able to see different records broken and stuff and it wouldn't be repetitive.

I feel promos have to get worked on and included next year. I truly miss creating our own promos. That made the game fresh and kept us interested in the game play. Another thing that would make rivalry be fun is at least include a six on six rivalry which is basically a faction vs faction feud. WWE lately has included a lot of factions over the past couple of years and it truly sucks not being able to have a Bloodline vs Judgement Day rivalry for example going on in Universe mode.

One of the biggest and annoying things that took me out is when the game would chose someone that isnt even in the division or in the tag division to help be apart of the story. I also hope theyve fixed where your allies actually help you out when you choose the storyline to have an ally save you. In 23 it didn’t matter if you put the ally as number 1 or number 5, it would always be someone random.

THX for your impression. I can totally agree with your points. I would say to improve Universe Mode 2K needs to bring back some little features we already had in this mode. We already had Promos and we already had Show Intros. Those little features would make this mode nearly perfect and would give even more fun to play.

I have 2 questions that I can’t find an answer to as of yet - 1. Being that the “American Badass” version of Taker is in the game, is his entrance music from Limp Bizkit selectable for CAWS? And 2. Does the rivalry action in Universe Mode still override the match type you set for that match to something generic like One on One Normal or Two on Two Normal, etc..?
