Jesse knows the score. His word is old school and thats whats missing in these matches today. A slow build where each match is better than the other and the crowds get their money's worth. Not these high extreme sports gymnastics that go on today in the opening match where half the people watching are looking at their phones because it comes off as a circus match.

I loved it when he was the guest host of Raw that night and he blasted Cena for being Vince's golden boy and that no one was able to get a straight shot at being WWE champion. Ventura tells it like it is and how it is whether or not you agree with him or want to smack him in the face. I mean he was right, this was I think 2009/2010 when Sheamus & Cena feuded over the WWE title with Sheamus winning the title at TLC in a botched finish by Cena and that it was a shame because it went straight to Cena again soon afterwards and Triple H and Orton etc.

When I was younger (when Foley was still active), the crazy bumps he could take were the main reason I loved him, but as the years have gone by, I've learnt to appreciate so much more about him. His whole style and approach was so innovative, down to, as you mentioned, the audible strange noises he'd make throughout the match. It all added to the psycho demeanor. The bumps are still an integral part for me, but that was just a part of the overall package. Easily in my top 5 wrestlers.

Mick came through as really intelligent on this, same as Jesse

great interview with two intelligent and articulate men... yet i was hoping that in the middle of their very insightful conversation Mick would inexplicably take his dinner plate and break it on Jesse's dome and then all hell would break loose with water and salads being tossed around and someone body slamming the other right through the table. then Jesse would pin Mick down and the interviewer would count to 3

I agree with both. You also have to take into consideration that Mick embodied the “Extreme era”. The whole Hardcore/Attitude era was an inception by him. Especially the Cactus Jack character. Mankind vs The Undertaker in a Broiler Room Brawl is to this day,one of the best brawls EVER. Jessie on the other hand comes from the Hogan-Warrior-Macho-Lex Lugar style era, where its not about bumps but rather physique and how just the sound of your entrance music and a 20 sec promo just before could really get the people going like he said in the match with Tito. I think once WCW was gone,WWE should pulled back but (tho i havent watched in YEARS) now it seems like they just competing with themselves and its just...not entertaining.

2 things: 1. Jesse didn't shake and tremble in 2003 as he has in recent years. 2. He looks much better with a shaved head and mustache.

It only happens when he gets riled up right? What can cause that? He def doesn't have parkinsons right? Nerves manifest differently in for people, so maybe it's that.

Jessie on commentary with Gorilla or Vince was a thing of beauty. He always missed the moment a chair or megaphone was used. You gotta love that heel commentary. Only Heenan outdid Jessie. And Im sure Jessie is fine with that. Good times

unfortunately the old school style of wrestling wouldnt work with the crowd today even though i was always in favor of the old school style. People today want to see bumps, dives over the top rope superplexes etc all the time or they get bored. Bothers the shit out of me

Maybe so, but if you've watched All In & Double Or Nothing, what were the best matches? Cody vs Aldis & Cody vs Dustin; both were old-school story telling matches without the crazy spots, both had the emotional connection between the talent & the fans. Old school definitely still gets over today. If you haven't seen MLW Fusion, there's loads of old school work. Monday's episode featured a Texas Tornado match that was over big-time. Check it out if you haven't . Quoting Toddy Piper, "Old school is cool."
