Pop the heads off of the Jakks figures, put them on the Mattel versions and then you are good to go! Excellent comparison. I like the head sculpts of the Jakks figures more, but Mattel's body sculpts are better.

Mattel bodies, Jakks heads. Too bad Jakks heads are always 25% too big for anything ever, because combining the two would have made it ideal.

Mattel win this as Mattel with the scaling , articulation and accessories. These guys were all big but built differently (crush had shoulders and a chest with less of a belly than Barry for example) What happened to Mattel?! They were putting in a hell of a lot of effort and these are a perfect example, gauntlets, entrance wear....

The jakks head scans are so much better

Jakks appears to have good face-mold talent. I mean, I haven't seen those guys since I was...a long time ago in the 90s, & they seem to bring back memories. So again, I would go totally OCD on them & customize them using the best parts (which is why I can't collect action figures anymore).

It's not fair to compare Elites to Ruthless Aggression. RA would best be compared to Basic. and Elite would best be compared to Deluxe Agression. Overall, Mattel should be on a shelf. Jakks is a toy, like it's supposed to be. I think Mattel went into this design to be better than Jakks, but I don't see it. Mattel, as always, botched the face scan. Jakks, as always, completely nailed the face skan. Accessory wise, Mattel wins. Though, if you acctually play with them , the accessories are inconvienient. They should be easier to take off. And as a collector myself, I prefer belts over individual attire ment for one person. Jakks wins by far.

Excellent comparison, even though, as you said, there isn't much comparison when it comes down to articulation. We use the figures for animating, so more articulation always wins, hands down. But I suppose if it were just for display purposes, the Jakks' head scans and expressions would get the nod.

You're making a comparison between classics jakks and demolition mattel... It's not really fair... It's like comparing ruthless agression with elite... Deluxe agression is the equivalent of elite and sorry but deluxe are way better for the figure in itself and mattel is way better for the accessories.

Mattel did a little bit better on Ax but I like Jakks Smash and Crush more. Mattel has the better accessories. I like the Crush face scan on the Jakks figure more but I like the Mattel face paint because that's the design Crush wore more often.

I think jakks figures look better but Mattel accessories are better. Mattel figures are way to skinny and don't stand well. Jakks figures arms come very loose to easy, but I must admit Mattel have nailed there WWE retro Hasbro line which look awesome, keep the the retro line coming.

I prefer Mattel for Ax and Smash, I think they captured their likeness perfectly. But, I prefer the Jakks Crush because the headscan is more like Crush, as you said and I think the Mattel body isn't that great. I always remembered Crush for being this huge, strong, muscular guy and Mattel didn't really show that with their figure.

Jakks's Kane boots, while nifty looking, had that annoying bump at the top of the joint that made it difficult to stretch their legs all the way straight (as evidenced by the turntable shot). Clipping the itty bitty tab off remedies this, but still.

I don't like Jakks' Smash headscan. It looks like 1989 Smash with 1987 (the original Smash) face paint. Mattel definitely nailed that one better than Jakks. Ax is 50-50 on which you like. (I prefer Mattel.) But Jakks win on Crush's scan. However, the body of Mattel's Crush is better. It's a shame mattel didn't paint the whole vest, though. :(

I like them both. Each has drawbacks to them. All the Mattel figures are rather sleek and each share a same musculature making the variances in height negligible. They seem almost hesitant to make a fat toy. Take away the heads and skin tones and all the Mattel figures are the same guy. Jaaks has the better head sculpts , but as the one fella pointed out, they do tend to be a tad too big, Razor Ramone being one of the most egregious. They weren't afraid to make a fat wrestler fat. And for this reason I tend to keep Yokozuna, Vader, and a few other big men as the penultimate versions of them. The lack of articulation does hurt the poseability of there figures, but then again, not every wrestler is so limber as to be able to do the full splits either. Their versions of Elite figures were much better made than the standard ones and had they done more of the legendary figures in that style and added variation in height while not following Mattel's lead of using the same bodies, they would still be atop the wrestling figure heap.

I prefer the jakks because the bodies of the demolition are thicker, I think the mattels are to thin

Jakks > Mattel in EVERY WAY! Heads are better on Jakks and the Mattel with extra articulation are easier to break and easier to get loose over time. The stomachs on Jakks look better than Mattel an ab crunch is completely unnecessary. Jakks figures can Lift leg straight forward and up to give "Big Boot" moves while Mattel can not. The thigh articulation is good for nothing as is a split on a wrestling figure unless its on a wrestler that does a side kick. Big Boot vs Side Kick? I'll take the Big Boot. The fact that people want to pop the heads off of Jakks to put on Mattel already admits Jakks are better. Nothing is more important than the head/face of an action figure. Excelsior!

mattel nailed the paint jobs across the board. they are (for me) the classic look of demolition. certainly what i think of when i think of demolition. perfect. but that facial sculpt on crush is terrible. the jakks crush actually looks like the guy. brilliant job. in a perfect world we would have the jakks crush head on the mattel crush body. if that was the case,as far as im concerned, you have the perfect embodiment of demoltion in toy form. so close. yet so far.

Mattel Crush looks like crap. Both versions of the others are good each. I'd say it comes down to articulation if that matters to you.
