The rivalry between Kevin Owens and Logan Paul has been brewing for months, fueled by personal animosity and a thirst for revenge. Owens, known for his no-nonsense attitude and unrelenting aggression, has been on a mission to shut down the brash KZfaqr-turned-boxer, Logan Paul. Meanwhile, Paul, ever the provocateur, has been taunting Owens at every turn, eager to prove that he belongs in the WWE spotlight.
Their showdown at WWE Royal Rumble 2024 promises to be a brutal affair, with both men willing to do whatever it takes to emerge victorious. The Men's Royal Rumble.
The buildup to the 2024 men's Rumble match has been outstanding. With all the lingering subplots and convincing characters at play, the iconic stipulation feels more noteworthy than it has in recent memory.
First of all, we need to talk about CM Punk. Punk already had great promos with Seth Rollins, Drew Mcintyre and on the most recent episode of Raw, Cody Rhodes. On Raw this week, Punk and Cody Rhodes were scheduled for a face to face segment that started with them exchanging pleasantries but slowly divulged into a heated conversation. Punk said that his father was just an electrician and not a famous WWE superstar like Cody', and that makes him more of the American Dream than Cody. Cody responded by saying that everything Punk spoke about in his infamous pipebomb speech, he did it all. And that made him more CM Punk than CM Punk himself. It ended with Rhodes giving Punk the cold shoulder leaving the ring, before Punk whipped him back and we saw Punk and Rhodes face to face.
Cody needs to finish his story at WrestleMania 40. Yet, the Royal Rumble victory might not be the right path to go down. He'll likely be one of the first few superstars to enter the Rumble and will likely last for a long time before perhaps being eliminated.
Gunther, who was the runner up at the Rumble last year, is also a major contender. This week on Raw, he confronted Seth Rollins and told him that after winning the Rumble, he will challenge Seth at Mania.
Since the favourites are Punk, Cody, Mcintyre, and Gunther, who are all on Raw, it's likely that the winner will go after Seth Rollins. And with the recent segments between these four with each other and with Rollins, they each have major history with each other - Punk and Cody were at OVW and AEW together, Cody and Drew were tag team champions, Drew's faced Gunther multiple times, Punk and Drew were at WWE together during Punk's first runs. For the first time in a long while, we have no clue who's going to pointing at the WrestleMania sign after the Rumble.
Kofi Kingston and Damian Priest also declared for the Rumble, and the members of New Day and the Judgement Day might all be part of the match. Shinsuka Nakamura also declared. On SmackDown, Bobby Lashley committed to being part of the Rumble, and this means we should see the Street Profits as well as Karrion Kross and AOP in the match.
So who do you think will win the men's Royal Rumble? Will Cody go back to back, will Punk main event Mania for the first time ever, or will Gunther get his first World title opportunity. Expect some quick eliminations and clearing out of the ring once Brock comes, and till number 30 comes out, just hope and pray, that we don't see Hulk Hogan.
