This was a very memorable SummerSlam where that would lead to many storylines in and out of the ring would occur for many years to come The injury that Austin suffered would cause him to eventually retire early not that long after and we saw the early stages of The HBK vs Undertaker rivalry that would end with 2 of the most iconic WM matches in WWE history and would end with Shawn's retirement

Great video! Yeah i think its hard to watch that piledriver on Stone Cold too. I always remember "Hawaiian " Crush from that WWF Royal Rumble video game on Sega Genesis. I really enjoyed watching this!

Fun fact: Michael Cole debuted a few months earlier on the June 7th episode of Shotgun Challenge...not to be confused with Shotgun Saturday Night, it's the same show but with different commentary, the same matches rearranged and aired at different times in different markets and was later changed to just Shotgun.

This one of my favorite summer slam 1997 of all time I have the coliseum video but in dvd the Bret hart vs undertaker and stone cold Steve Austin vs Owen Hart and Ken shamrock vs the bulldog was such a good classic event from the attitude era are you watching Friday night smack down tonight and all elite rampage it’s gonna be popping tonight right now watching summer slam 2006 !

The Godwin's vs LOD was a a short program LOD did beat The Godwin's for the WWF Tag Team Titles on a random Raw like about a week or 2 after The Godwin's beat The Headbangers at Bad Blood.

The other parts of the stipulations was Pillman had to wear a dress for a month and if he won a match he didn't have to wear it anymore which was why Golddust interfere in Pillman's matches every chance he got this also the reason Pillman made the comments that Dakota was really his biological child which cause the rematch with Pillman vs Golddust where if Pillman won he got Marlena for a month.

SummerSlam 97 was a very interesting one I never understood HBK heel turn U understand UnderTaker was super over but so was Shawn and Bret spit in his face and HBK in the heat of the moment hit Undertaker by accident because Bret ducked just i didn't know why the fans couldn't see that HBK didn't mean to hit the Deadman

The main event was just perfect Shawn Michaels helping the man he dispase to win and that chair shot to taker was epic this all led to the series of event hell in cell kane dabut and the infomes the Montreal screwjob
