Another look at WWF WrestleMania The Arcade Game, this time looking at the arcade version in-depth along with EVERY port released on home consoles.
Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Doink, Bam Bam Bigelow, The Undertaker, Yokozuna, Razor Ramon and Lex Luger are all selectable in WrestleMania The Arcade Game (with the SNES version missing 2 characters). The game uses digitized character sprites to bring characters to life, matches are completely over the top, yet the game is also a whole lot of fun. This video goes into further detail on Midways unique take on WWF action.

I think one of my favorite tiny detail things in this game was how the gave Lex that metal elbow since he was doing that as one of his finishers around that time. Playing up the whole metal plate in his arm from the motorcycle accident.

Aaahh, yes, my lil bro & I were some of the ones who owned the SNES version, back in the mid '90s, & we loved it, but it sucks to know that there were much better versions available, out there, at the time. Only thing we hated, back then, was that Yokozuna & Bam Bam weren't on our version. We played WrestleMania: The Arcade Game, all the way until WCW vs NWO World Tour came out, & we quickly picked up that one!

Happened to go to Galloping Ghost in Chicago back in March when Scott Hall passed. WrestleMania was there and every single person, myself included, was playing as Razor. I loved this game because finally learning how to chain combos together was such a satisfying feeling. It felt like when you figured out how to do a Brutality or an Ultra combo in Killer Instinct. Also, for the life of me,I cannot understand why they wouldn’t release an updated version of this game/In Your House today. The characters in WWE now are PERFECT for a game like this. Just imagine them borrowing from ‘In Your House’ and each wrestler having their own themed arena. They could borrow Mortal Kombat’s Tower mode and have you face Roman at the very end and his theme would literally be the Island of Relevancy.

This was hands-down the best wrestling game of that console generation. Not until WCW World Tour would it be de-throned. I remember hearing Kevin Nash talk about how pissed off he was when he didn't make "the Midway game" because that was the first wrestling game that really delivered massive royalty checks to all of the wrestlers featured in it due to its success.

@arpegio88
@arpegio88 Жыл бұрын
I always wondered exactly why Diesel wasn't in this particular game also but it's important to remember that this game started production around mid-late 1993 at which point Diesel was still Shawn's bodyguard and had not yet had a proper one-on-one bell to bell match in the Federation. The game only featured top stars of that era at the time; Diesel was still on the come up.

ALWAYS appreciate a good play guide like you did here for an Arcade Game, WB. Emulation makes them all so easily playable nowadays, but its not like they have tutorial modes or anything after all. The arcade version was definitely the best! I played it recently on a MAME emulator on my 65” TV it looked amazing! One game I do remember fondly along side this one was WWF In Your House on ps1. I always believed if that game would’ve been released on the arcade cabinet like WWF Wrestlemania it would’ve been amazing aswell. I remember all the “rumors” that went around about this game, Adam Bomb secret character, blood code ect…One being 100% true was that the undertaker was the only one that had a “fatality” which is only able to be done on the arcade version of the game. WWF In Your House also copied that with “super pins” and all the wrestlers had their own unique “super pin” but the game itself falls miles short compared to Wrestlemania. It would’ve been great to see Vader,Warrior, Owen, Bulldog, Ahmed,Goldust and Triple H on WRESTLEMANIA along with its original roster of WWF superstars

I had only played Wrestlemania (both in arcade and on PS1) and I never knew of IYH until I started collecting PS1 games again around 2010. I was really pumped for it. But I was surprised by the just dingy look of the graphics, although I did love the stages, and "Tri" was a selectable character and it also featured plenty of Destrucity, so theres that.
