Pink even showed class in her earliest of interviews, The Interviewer said to her ‘You don’t lip-sync but out of any artist you know, who lip-syncs the most?’ the obvious answer for that time would have been Brittany, but Pink responded ‘i don’t know, most do’.. the interviewer damn well knew they wanted Pink to say Brittany. but Pink never mentioned any names. She has real class built into her.

I love that Pink is vocal in her support for these causes. My question is why we fault Taylor for being less outspoken, without holding to the same standard people like Justin Bieber, or Justin Timberlake, or Ed Sheeran, or One Direction, or any other male pop star/celebrity.

Maybe you mistake who these people are-They’re entertainers. They’re not here to mirror your actions or thoughts, to placate your ego. Maybe they have different ideas on what’s best for the world. Maybe they talk about those ideas, maybe they don’t-Musicians and actors are not politicians. You didn’t vote for them, and they’re not seeking your vote. It’s not your place to hold them accountable for anything other than the quality of their artistic endeavors-If that.

notice Pink's giving a diplomatic answer, basically live and let live, here. Then she goes on with why she's how she is. I like that she's forthright and speaks her mind, and that you know where you stand with her, because that's who she is, public and private. Go, Pink! Good to hear what she thinks, the smart side of her, as well as the entertainer. This makes me like and respect who she is more. Not perfect, but also, pretty dang epic. Good that she stands up for things and helps out.

Not a fan of either artist but for the dumbfucks who said,say and will say that they do not care about what celebrities have to say about politics and governance are simply bigots. First you need to think about is, if you are capable of doing that, these celebrities pay more taxes in a year than what you will be paying in your lifetime. So they are supposed to air their grievances if they feel like it. They earned it. They have paid their due diligence. And for any stroke of miracle that you pay the same taxes as they do, why should you curtail their inherent right to free speech? Unless of course if free speech only means those wich agree with your narrowminded opinion!

That was a very rude question from that caller: why do you have to tear someone else down just to illuminate her activism? Not every good deed has to be public...nobody knows what Taylor does behind the scenes to make the world a better place. I know that she's a good role model for young girls and that is enough of a difference in this world. I don't expect musicians to have the cure for cancer.

Taylor was silenced for a really long time because she was pressured to do so. I'm glad she discussed it in Miss Americana. But not everyone is loud either. Dolly Parton has made a whole career out of keeping her opinions to herself. It's okay if people choose to do that too. Everyone has their reasons.

Okay I hear you all but think about it this way: when kanye interrupted taylor in 2009, pink was the first person to boo kanye off the stage and she gave a standing ovation for taylor trying to encourage her to stand strong. And later she was one of the first people to express what he did was wrong. And after miss americana, we know what a psychological decadence it was for taylor even with people on her side, so imagine adding loneliness to that? What if people never spoke up, and stayed silent? What would that mean? Wouldn’t their silence mean they supported kanye’s ideas about taylor? The black lives matter movement is a much, much more important area to especially speak up and not stay silent about. So it’s good that taylor decided to finally break her silence, it was the right thing to do.

Im always impressed my celebs talking about things that affects society but do you people really give a shitt if one celeb doesnt tweet? Liks why are you waiting for them? Go do something yourself..tweet about the issue yourself. At the end of the day the only power celebs have is to inform their fans. Well, that would mean she is acting out of fear. If you only do what is right when you have no consequences to face for it that does not make you a "fearless leader" or an "alpha-type" which is what she tries to sell herself as. And yeah, it disappoints me when people celebrate other people for their "leadership" when those people show next to none. Doesn't take away from her talent, though. If people would just celebrate her for her music etc. and not project things on her she doesn't stand for it would be a different thing. I'd still be disappointed for her lack of using her platform, but who cares what disappoints me^^ Just don't try to convince me she is something she is not with no evidence to back it up.

Everything was different you should watch Taylor’s documentary miss America to see how she is very vocal about politics now but why she wasn’t before. She waited until society had already changed in that direction before she went "yeah, I'm for that, too" She was not FIGHTING for these things, but now she is tokenizing them. You may fall for it because she is undoubtedly very skilled at marketing and "Miss Americana" (not Miss America) is just that: another marketing opportunity to stoke sympathy. (which is OK, a lot of artist have that kind of "documentary" out to show their side of the story.) Granted, "You Need To Calm Down" was not the first time she mentioned some kind of LGBTQ issue, she had the throw away line "and you can want who you want boys and boys and girls and girls" in her song "Welcome To New York" from the 1989 album. I can only say again that I don't want to take away from her talent, her beauty and I am glad she is outspoken now - but that does not mean she was a leader on the issues and I'm not going to praise her for something she has not done. Because that is an insult to people who ACTUALLY fought, risked their careers & faced consequences for their bravery & integrity.

I feel bad for Taylor because no matter what she says she is going to piss off a lot of people. Women in the music industry get it so much harder compared to the men, they are expected to speak up about issues and incidents no more than 5 minutes after they happen, if they don't they are crucified but if they do they haven't said enough or their response wasn't good enough. I remember Taylor tweeting about the protest in Charleston for the church shooting and she got called an attention seeker, a fake and that her words weren't good enough.

lol women have it so much worse? Men can NEVER speak out about any issues or incidents that happen to them in the workplace. Look at Terry Crews for example. They cant come out for fear of being ostracized in the industry. It took alot of courage for him to say anything. Honestly most people will believe a woman over a man even if they just accuse them of doing something wrong. Just look at the Duke Lacross team incident. One person accused the whole team. I bet still to this day there are people who think those guys are guilty just because they were accused. I bet there are even more male victims of abuse out there just because they dont have a voice to speak out with. At least women at some point might can get some justice. Look at the Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby incidents. If the majority of those were men we would've probably never heard a thing about it.

Almost every celebrity donates but that's not hard to do and they were talking about standing up and helping a cause NOT just with your money but with your voice and influence. In my opinion you do NOT have to be vocal to fight for justice. In the end talking is just one way to contribute to the situation, it raises awareness, but it‘s certainly not the only way to do it. Nobody knows what Taylor Swift is like when she‘s between her own four walls and she‘s a Lady who has a lot of power to actually do something while not showing it.

Taylor was for a very long time. I’d argue she still is very performative and self-serving in her activism. I agree that P!nk’s answer was very classy, though. 😊 I can’t get over Taylor’s silence when her fans went in on the Ginny and Georgia actress with racist death threats in response to Taylor’s tweet in defense of herself. It felt like a very reckless endangerment of the young woman, and all in the name of her supposed “feminism”.

Speaking up is all good and well, except when it's oversaturated and continual argumentation will cause further dissonance. In the end, actions speak louder than words, or tweets. Something that a lot of "woke" twitter stans and celebrities have yet to learn.

What Ever that's the whole problem people have with her is that she's only a feminist when it'll profit her. She doesn't wanna divide her fanbase? So she rather have people who are closed minded keep being they way they are so she doesn't lose money? She has an opportunity to speak to her fan base and they WILL listen so like why wouldn't she use her base for something positive? Yeah props to her for donating money but she's one person imagine if she got her fan base behind an important issue how much more money could be raised? How much more attention an issue could get? She doesn't speak up on important things and that's the problem

A C "people who are closed minded." It's called an opinion. Taylor said in an interview in 2010 that she doesn't want to engage in politics because she doesn't want to force her views onto her fanbase. And these so-called feminists attacking her for not speaking out about every little thing is ridiculous. No group of celebrities has been so political until the past year or so. Entertainers are here to entertain, 70% of Americans want less politics in their entertainment, and she's doing that, spreading a positive message out for young girls while trying not to be some hero like pink.

Patrick L Miley Cyrus has no Grammies and her new album flopped. I don’t hate her, I actually love her but I think she has no stand against Taylor when she’s a mess herself. Katy has no Grammies and her new album flopped as well. Kim is talentless if anything and is only famous because she poses her body. Kanye is one of the most hated people in the music industry and Taylor’s least selling album still outsells his best selling.

Stop expecting singers to talk about politics. Sometimes people just want to keep it seperate. The problem is, it's trendy rn to be into politics amongst young people, but the problem with that is, they've never been interested previously. They don't really know much apart from "Trump is evil" and anyone who disagrees is also evil. It's a problem because that's just not the reality. Please educate yourselves if you want to discuss politics, and also stop expecting every celebrity to preach the same shit you do because everyone is different.
