Kelly probably forgot about it too because she answered his "questionable memories" in a follow up interview (in 2012/2013) (?), I forgot where. I remember her being fiery about his lies about her crying in specific circumstances regarding SUBG/BOY. Clive Davis is one of the biggest pieces of shit and why her My December album was sabotaged.

There is footage of Whitney Houston begging Clive Davis for a 2nd chance. This is right before she passed. He had the most horrible look on his face, like he was disgusted by her. He didn't cancel his Grammy party when she died. I think that says it all about his character.

In an interview for Blender, Martin and Dr. Luke revealed that they had originally intended Pink to sing "Since U Been Gone", however, she turned it down.[2] Dr. Luke also explained that Hilary Duff's management was interested in the song but rejected it because Duff could not reach the song's higher notes.

Can someone tell me if I've got this right? Kelly was given a demo with little to no lyrics. The label told her to write the lyrics and go record the song. The original producers didn't know Kelly was asked to write lyrics so they did lyrics for the song as well. Kelly didn't like that she was lied to and ended up looking like a diva because she came in with different lyrics to a song that was already written. Is that what she's saying?

@@eron8937 The point was that the label lied to her and tricked her into the recording session in order to get her to record the song. I don't think she's claiming it's that dramatic, but if someone is going to write about it in a memoir then she's entitled to say what really happened from her perspective.

I just flew half way around the world and these are some lyrics I wrote. Then you get there and that’s not the case at all? Kelly could have been dramatic and told everyone when it happened but she didn’t. Kelly never told anyone. She just answered a question and actually told it in the very least dramatic way a celebrity could.

I think it goes deeper into Clive badmouthing Kelly as a songwriter because he hated "Because of You" which she had co-written. So maybe he was trying to convince her it was no hard feelings by saying she'd go to Sweden and help with writing, as if he believed in her as a songwriter again, only to learn that was his way of saving face (after calling her a horrible songwriter) and really had nothing to do with the song she flew there to record.

@@zutropolazutropola4449 This was probably after Clive had badmouthed her for "Because of You" which he found a horrible song (I mean, it's very melancholy and the lyrics are chunky and long-winded "Because of you, I find it hard to trust not only me but everyone around me..."). So him claiming "Fly to Sweden and you can help write the song" was probably his way of making her feel she would have a hand in songwriting even though it was a pre-written song like she was trying to break away (no pun intended) from.

Kelly has forgotten that she knew about the memoir 'cause she put out a press release after the book came out. He had said she was crying because he wanted her to record "Since U Been Gone" but her memory was that she cried after she played him the demo of "Because Of You" -- that she had actually co-written -- and he told her it's a horrible song. (The lyrics are pretty chunky so a record exec would have aversion to it.)

That is Kelly best song EVER! She started out as a potential Ann Wilson type of vocalist coming off that ridiculous singing competition show. Young, pretty and fit Sadly, Kelly let herself go.
