She competes with herself. Her complex runs right up to present day prove this. They are so unique, quick but it's her agility throughout 4 decades that is astounding. Her headvoice has improved and just the control and agility she has with those runs is completely amazing at 51 with almost 4 decades into her career.

And I also recall that after she absolutely killed it - in one take - she took off her headphones and stormed out of the studio - which is, IIRC, the only time she's ever done that. (Bet Rene had to keep her from throttling David for that bit.)

Yes I lost my 2 yrs ago on March and she wanted to attend her show in Vegas.. my mother passed away to colon cancer, and me and my sisters decided to honor my mom at Celine Dion's concert in Jersey, we took my mother with us in spirit.. we wear a medallion that represents her and we pray that she enjoyed herself at that concert with us, it meant everything to me, it was undescribable. I flew to Jersey from Atlanta to go it was worth it

yeah but in the world of classically trained singers, its only an F, which isnt a high note for a woman. I mean look at Julie Andrews, she was singing high Gs, A-flats, As, b-flats and Cs live concert stage, albums and films.

All by Myself F5 note is the most powerful F5 note ever executed in FULL CHEST REGISTER. they can sing all by myself multiple times live but it will never be as powerful as Celine's almighty note in the studio version.

@@luislamb2484 they're friends but on that paragraph there was some shade. She said that what Céline did was sheer lunacy to her and that it seemed like blasphemy. Whether you agree or not with her, those are strong words. She could have voiced her opinion in a more respectful way towards Céline, who btw went to toe with Aretha only after Aretha asker her to do it. Céline has always respected Mariah and Aretha. Mariah could have written that paragraph in a more peaceful , less shady way, while still expressing her opinion.

@@icydelight3693 i agree that it was worded shady but it’s understandable that you don’t go head to head to try to outsing a legend, that’s what mariah was saying. she found it just disrespectful because she was taught to revere a person who came before you. even patti labelle didn’t like that !! but if aretha did ask her to sing with her then it is what it is. it’s in the past 😂 regardless, celine killed it that night. and that shady comment didn’t stop mariah and celines friendship ! celine helped mariah after her miscarriage so that “shady” comment was harmless and only affected people that hate mariah to hate her even more. celine and mariah are both queens so let’s not spread any more hate and cherish these legends while they are still here ❤️

More so as of today. #1 Album Billboard 200 entry and is 5th of 6th women to enter this list at #1 this year. Céline joins 3 other female artists, Britney Spears, Barbra Streisand and Janet Jackson as having a #1 entry in each decade for the past 3 decades. Also, she beats Whitney Houston, R.I.P., with 16 years and 4 months, as having the longest period in between a #1 comeback album of 17 years and 7 months. Amazing lady❤👑❤

Mariah said in an interview when asked what it's like singing with Aretha at the Divas Live '98, "You don't really need to be standing next to the Queen Of Soul trying to sing, you revere her." But Celine went for it. Which made it lively and exciting. 😊😊😊

I LOVE Mariah but she was speaking from a place of insecurities. She thought because her place was to retrieve and let Aretha sing, was what everybody else on that stage was supposed to do as well. The fact alone, that every time Mariah brings up that event & always has to mention how Céline tried it with Aretha is beyond me. And again I love Mariah.

If you listen carefully to what Aretha is asking when she starts singing 'Jesus' she says ' help me lift him up, help me lift him up ' at first nobody wanted to join in so Aretha grabbed the nearest (Mariah) and they sang a bit together. Then again Aretha looks at the divas repeating ' help me lift him up, help me lift him up ' this time Celine shows up and they both gave us quite a duet! Both Mariah and Celine are fans of Aretha, one (Mariah) chose to be discreet while Celine chose to enjoy the moment and have fun. Mariah doesn't own ' exclusive special Aretha fan US-patent'.

I lost my wife in May 2018. When Celine said, "He really wanted me to live, dance, move sing. . ." - well, some things are pretty universal. It hit home pretty hard, but in a good way. We just do what we know they'd want for us.

Just re-watching young Céline singing with her family exibiting that aura as she does today brings a huge smile to my face. Fame and fortune has not tarnished her since she stepped onto the world stage almost 4 decades ago. First in French and then combined with English. She is a global treasure. France awarded her a medal, Canada awarded her 2 of the highest medals that can be given to a civilian. René was also awarded a medal. She burst into tears recently in a Montreal concert as her fans gave her a standing ovation, one of a few that evening. You are very much loved Céline❤👑❤

Celine is such a bold, audacious performer! I think she felt like she had to come up to Aretha’s standard back then, and that’s why she sang the way she did at that Divas show back in 1999.

God, i love this woman so much, and for so many reasons!! For me, knowing someone is authentic and honest means everything, and I believe Celine has proven that she is all of that and so much more. Not by her words so much, but by the way she IS, and always HAS been!! She walks the walk, and for that, and as i said, so very much more besides she has and WILL always have my utmost respect, support, time and love...class, pure class!! 🥰🌟🧡

Hero in terms of work ethic and drive. But I think he's a bit too messy to be a hero. Celine is my kind of person. Talented, hard working, passionate but most of all: positive, positive, positive. She reminds me of an old friend of mine. The same quirkiness and openness and full of love.
