I have built and delivered sheds for 41 years now and I won’t even put a building over 12 inches high any more, it’s just not safe with no foundation underneath. If that is a issue for the customer they can go somewhere else. Every customer is convinced that their property is level. I had one who could not understand why I was not going to get a shovel and dig holes in the ground to put the blocks in the holes. Some even outright lie to you about the delivery situation and when you call them on it they will laugh right in your face. It gets to be a bit much after a while.

Amazes me that folks can’t figure out that the final set can’t be on a slope! Some thought before as to where exactly they want the building to sit, and hire someone with the equipment to create a level site with minimal blocks. SMH. Great job moving and blocking twice though, guess that’s what you have to do. 👍

Assuming someone did want it set on a slope, if they told me two blocks high, I would assume they meant at the most. If you took out another layer of blocks, it would still be half a block above the footing blocks at the low end. A level and a little discussion ahead of time would've saved a lot of work.
@WybleFamilyAdventures2 жыл бұрын
I completely agree but that is out of our hands the seller is the one who tells them how to get the land ready if they want to do so we just show up with the building and set it up all of that work before hand is done with the person that sells the buildings

@@WybleFamilyAdventures Exactly I prepped my site before the shed was delivered. The only room we had on our property was on a slope. So we had 9 tons of # 3 stone and leveled the area. We put drain tile under the stone. So when they came with the pads and block it was smooth sailing.

Still not sure why the customer wanted it that high. There's gotta be a way for a sales rep to figure the slope of the land and explain to the customer that poor site prep is NOT covered by any sort of warranty. Once it starts sinking or tipping all of the windows and doors will be out of kilter. It's a bad case of pay me now or pay me later.

Frost heave (depending on where you are located) will put that building on the ground in a short while. Also, the organic matter under the blocks will also compact and settling will occur. Don't know who's responsible for the mistake but your name will be who they repeat over and over even if you did exactly what they wanted. Not trying to be a jerk, I've been in business for myself for a while and know how the blame game works. Lesson learned I hope.

Did the customer pay for foundation and leveling .. or contract someone to prepare and certify the site beforehand? I've seen movers drop a shed in the dirt and drive off because the land owner didn't ready the site! A return visit from the mover usually costs as much as the original delivery .. it behooves the land owner to ensure the site is ready to avoid these extra charges.

Premium work on the blocks too, most shed deliverers around here refuse to put anymore than two blocks under around where i live, too much work apparently. The main shed company around here is very corporate(quantity over quality), so they dont put a mom and pop touch to their work like yall do. Friend had a shed delivered and they refused to put anymore than two blocks, so we had to rent a few bottle jacks and do it ourselves, which was a pain in the arse. Id definitely buy a shed from yall if you were close by.
