Seamus McGuoirk really the pixie mute doesn't change the sound of the trombone too much, but when combined with the plunger mute a great sound is produced

Axel Baumgarten He's not the only one that can do it, there are several trombonists that can do it, however it is extremely difficult and he is one of the best.

Yup, it's called a mute. I'm a jazz trombonist, and I use this. Really fun to make the waaaauuuwww sound you were talking about. It's also used on trumpet.

Olivier Franck joined in on the stage with Alfredo Espinoza's ORQUESTA INTERNACIONAL, in Paris in 2000...I was the trombonist. So nice memories of that Tournée. .. on Ytube also
