Sophia’s And SnowBall’s World My 3 year old son, managed to get out of our yard. Fortunately for us, our sheep dog saw him leave. She cornered him a block away and pinned him against a building. He slipped out while my wife was had her back turned helping our 4 year old with a sliver. We had no idea which way he went. I went one way, mom the other. I was shocked at how far he made it in such a short time. It was also fortunate that there was only two directions he could have went. Had we lived in a rural area at the time. He could have gone in any direction. And who knows how far he could go unseen.

Just this February 2019 I found a baby in the middle of a busy road near a very steep corner early afternoon hours. I couldn’t believe my eyes at first . I stopped in the middle of the road and grabbed the baby as fast as I could without scaring him because it was a two way road and I was scared any moment a vehicle might bend that corner and run the baby over ( thank god thay didn’t happen) I grabbed the baby who seemed to be about no more than 2yrs old and kept screaming who’s baby is this ! I walked about two houses when a grandmother and a grandfather who was supposed to be watching the baby was in the yard doing yard work and didn’t realize the baby had went into the street . I was traumatized to say the least.

I Googled the grandmother's name, and found out that her daughter, the baby's mother, had died earlier that year. He was playing with his sister in the front porch and crawled away 40 feet from their home. I'm not saying this excuses the grandmother at all, I just wish I could help. She's taking care of five children in total. I hope things are better for them right now. Stories like this need a gofundme. They could do with some more help.

This same thing happen to me and my wife. We found a baby in the middle of the road on April 23rd 2016 with nobody around. This story is so shocking because some of the things that happen here also happen to me. Like I was yelling "Who's baby is this" and nobody ever showed up the whole time I was yelling. This guy was blowing his horn to get somebody's attention and nobody ever showed up. This was all caught on a cheap dashcam we had at the time. I even called the video "Baby found in the middle of the road Without a parent close by" in which it caught the eye of a local news station like here. I agree with this gentlemen that found the baby on 2 points . 1st the reporter from Fox19 tried to call me a HERO also. I also said I am not a Hero. I told the reporter that "The Men & Women serving our Country that don't get the daily Thank You's our the true Hero's". 2nd I also would like to believe that anyone would do the same thing also and we was put in that place at that time to save a small child. If you take nothing from this story or if you see my raw video. Take this way "When parents fall short of protecting one of God's greatest gift "A Child" people need and should be ready to step in and protect that child that cant protect themselves.

Many years ago, I was working nights and just about every night. I had children to support and had too much pride for welfare. I had two children at school, and two toddlers at home. I fell asleep on the sofa folding clothes. I do not know how my 2 1/2 year old managed to unlock the chain on the door, but he did. I woke up, door open and my children gone. I panicked. I ran out of my house screaming their names when I saw two men carrying them down the street towards me. I have never felt so much relief. Go ahead and abuse me with with your words because you can never hurt me more then I have hurt myself over what might have been. Instead of making ugly judgmental comments about something you know nothing about, how about helping out a friend, a neighbor, or just being nice to someone because you never know what they are going through. I think just about every mom has a horror story that haunts her even after the kids have grown up and moved out. My little one put Houdini to shame when it came to escaping. Even after installing door locks and window alarms, my awesome (and understanding) nieghbors called me one morning to tell me my 3 year old was at their house having breakfast. She'd crawled out the cat door and followed the nieghbor's dogs through a trail of dense forest to their house. The husband told me the best advice ever "It doesn't matter how good of a parent you are, no one is perfect and we all make mistakes."

Look at that beautiful little boy. He does look well nourished, and he was checked at the hospital and they didn't find anything concerning regarding his condition. I've been a pediatric nurse for forty years and other than watching them suffer through illnesses, the worse part of taking care of my tiny patients is neglectful parents. I know eventually the children I have worked so hard to restore to health, comforted and rocked to sleep, are going home to uncertainty. Having said that, I have also met many amazing loving, nurturing parents who would die for their children, far more of those parents versus the latter.

The video is a few years old, so I really hope that the little one has been doing well. It's a very good thing that the right people spotted the baby. Some folks are not as perceptive as they should be while driving, esp during a rain storm. Also, it's a very good thing that some maniac or freak didn't get a chance to snatch him up. They might not consider themselves to be hereos (I like their humility!), although they were certainly at the right place, at the right time....

Glad baby is safe! My younger brother got out of the house when he was 2 or 3. Whoever was with him, mom I think but can't recall, fell asleep on couch in living room. The room was closed off, and the front door was within reach but had the handle locked, deadbolt locked, and the chain. We use to call him Houdini because he could escape anything. He managed to undo all three locks, open and close the door behind him, and cross a busy, main road multiple times before the cops arrived and brought him home. All within an hour and a half or an hour, but no more than that. That kid is amazing but back then he was a handful! To think what could have happened!!

I found a baby on the side of the road in the suburbs in NJ when I used to race bikes in high school. I stopped and picked him up (he was walking, but it was clear he had just learned), and started to look around when a frantic woman came running from the backyard. Her 3 yr old and the baby were napping in a play yard while she was hanging laundry in the backyard, and she ran inside to put the dry laundry in and grab the wet stuff, and the 3yr shoved the baby out of the playyard. The mother came out and saw the baby missing a few minutes after, and assumed he was in the backyard-she must have remembered the road, or noticed the gate was open, just about the time I was picking him up. He was more scared by her crying like mad than the road. She thanked me and told me to stop by for a drink of water and to say hi anytime I rode past (which was the same time every day)- a few times they would be in the yard playing when I rode past that summer, so I would stop and say hi.

ann Gillespie It should be obvious. Crawled over to the door, stood up, reached to the handle at 3' above the floor, unlocked the door, opened it, quietly slipped out, closed the door, went down the steps, crawled out to the road and started exploring. All on his own. Yeah. That's what happened.

My husband picked up a baby in the rain. It was in the gate Community with million dollar homes. She wasn’t even a year old and less than 10 feet from a lake. There was no homes in eye sight. He was doing a tree job and put her in the work truck and turned the heat on. He drove around knocking on doors. He found on one house with the Garage door slightly open. He went in and the side door was open he yelled for someone but Music was playing very loud. He went in and keep yelling. When 2 two teenage girls came running down the stairs. He ask if they lost something. It was there little sister. He left her with them and went to his job. He ask The homeowners if they knew the family. They was very close to them and thought of the kids like grandkids. They called the mother and told her to come home. She was a few hours away and asked they to sit with kids until she got home. It was the first time she left the teenage kids home to watch the baby. We received a thank you letter and the father called and was thankful he found her before she got in the water.

I raised a hyperactive son. I slept against his closed door afraid to actually fall asleep. It was exhausting. I was so lucky he didn't get away from me. I do understand how hard it can be though.

I was on a phone call when my boys were about 1 and 2 and for the first time, my two year old worked out how to unlatch the gate in the yard and took themselves for a ‘walk’. Luckily I went to check on them just as they were about to cross the road! Couldn’t believe it. If it can happen to me, I guess it could happen to anyone. I try not to judge. Maybe grandma was asleep? It’s very odd and very scary

On a very cold winter's day my father found a three year old girl, in town, she had on a skirt and Tshirt a slipper on one foot and a boot on the other. No one knew who she was. The mother who had moved the previous day, had put her down for a nap. She had got up and wandered out the house, parents called the police to say they had found a child. Luckily mother and daughter were reunited within the hour. No prosecution was made. Kids are great at escaping.

Linda Andrews true but this baby was 11 months old, he probably couldn’t walk very good if he could even do that yet. How long did it take them to notice he was gone? Babies can’t crawl that fast for too long they’d get tired

No one is perfect but when you have children in the house you have to check doors and latches and look at see what they could get into for instant will it should be covered cabinet should be locked you have to get down on the floor and make sure sure everything is safe they can get out very easily and you have to be aware of this if you are busy you need to put them in a crib or somewhere where they're safe freak things does happen but be thankful that somebody was there to find that little boy

3 year old, i can kinda understand...some 3 year olds can be very mischievous and at that age their personality is in full swing, independence is growing, but an 11 months old escaping on their own is BS
@anniewilliams93176 жыл бұрын
amutinyinheaven I have no words for this situation but it should be investigated I know free things happened but was there other people in the house younger children who left the door open sounds crazy I'm just happy that the Lord send someone nice and kind to help the baby in the baby was okay

I have never had my daughter escape. That is crazy. I was 20 when I had her, but she was an exceptional baby and a great teenager now. After a couple days home from the hospital I figured out she would sleep the entire night on my chest, we slept like that for about 3 months. My mom would be so angry with me, saying its dangerous, but I knew I wouldn't roll over or move from that spot with my baby on my chest. My mom would come in the room to "wake her up" every morning, but I knew she was really checking to see if I had moved at all through the night. Lol

How does a BABY that can't walk escape from a home? I know toddlers can be very capable of this, but a Baby?!
@katiecumberledge49436 жыл бұрын
she died when he was 3 month old. don't sit here and shame a mother who didn't have control over a situation because she's dead. she loved her kids. and this would have never have happened if she didn't pass away
@nx84816 жыл бұрын
I can't understand how you can lose an 11 month old. Call me a helicopter mom or whatever, but a child that age should never be out of arms reach outside of home. And your home should be child proofed so that the child can't sneak around and get outside. I can't see how this case could be considered anything except negligence and incompetence.
