I think it is worth mentioning that according to Dongshen, the PM for the OG, the camera sensor is exactly the same between the OG and the v3. So while there are some perceived difference in image comparisons, expect that to change in upcoming firmware updates as they tweak the image/camera settings.

Hello- I have a number of older Wyze Cams and Wyze Pan Cams. I just bought two OGs and am considering V3 Pans to replace my current pans. My question is the App. I have the OGs connected and the app works far better than when using the old cams. Does the V3 and OG use the same app interface so I can see four LIVE cameras at the same time? Thanks.

very good review, ... I bought some wyze 3v's during Home Depot sale a month ago for 17 dollars a piece (2 pack for 35 dollars) , so for me the v3 is cheaper then the OG model. Your review was cool because your title is OG cam best 20 dollar camera you can buy! But then your review was showing how much better the V3 is over the OG. And the last 30 seconds of video you ended with for 20 dollars it is cool if you ADD cam PRO subscription that has monthly extra price. I love the v3 because it is the best 17 dollar camera that does have FREE wyze LITE to you can get 12 sec clips, and person detection. My advice is get a v3 when on sale, since it has starlight, and is included in camera's that are allowed to be added to wyze cam LITE for extra features for FREE ( or name your price).

both my v3 and og work great with my 1st gen Google Nest Hub display...and a Lenovo display with Google assistant built-in. Though I can't stream continuously throughout the day, the video drops off after a few hours.

It’s making me reconsider the use cases of OG without a subscription… 🤔 still hard to beat for $20 but v3 goes on sale sometimes and it sounds like OG will be going up in price soon, so it seems like there won’t be a big enough difference in price to justify getting the OG unless you just like the spotlight. Seems like this is just their way of trying to get folks on Cam Plus subscriptions….

The Wyze OG is a great camera. You can't beat the quality and capabilities for the price. The ball pivot in the mount is extremely tight, so once set it should never slip on its own. At the same time, it makes me a little hesitant to do much adjusting. It's safer to hold the mount and the camera firmly with your hands and be careful how much pressure you put on the unit, when adjusting it. It would also be nice if Wyze would put out a pc-friendly app, without the user having to go through an emulator. Yi Camera's app works on both cell phones and pc with no extra steps, and viewing multiple cameras at one time through their app makes me wish Wyze would do the same as soon as possible.

I'm a new user to security cameras. Just bought and put the WYZE OG in service as a trial run. Great price but I have experienced continual false motion tripping after dark. Watching the live stream shows frequent orbs, sparklies, tracers, fireworks, glitter shows, and the like, which trip the motion sensor. The motion tagging shows where they were, but are usually so quick, there is nothing in the box. There is absolutely no motion in front of the camera, no bugs, moths, bats, or birds. The frequency can be as high as every 15 minutes through the night. I've done all the typical things like restarting, resetting. I've sent a log to WYZE for review. Daytime use is OK, but it has failed on at least 3 times to detect actual motion of a person walking through the protected zone during daylight. Also, unless you use a paid service, the camera has a 5 minute cooldown, meaning that it will not detect new motion within 5 minutes of reporting a motion event. Not sure how this cam shows color at night unless you have some outdoor lights lit, mine is always black and white. I'll probably keep looking for a camera that better meets my needs.

The OG is a great camera for $20 but spend a few dollars more and get the V3 because the V3 has better detection and you can test this with the motion tagging. And the V3 pan is also a good camera motion detection at night is a little glitchy especially if you have some solar lights that come on the camera will go directly to those lights instead of what you want to see but it's cool to be able to use the camera to see all around. It doesn't have the same distance detection as the regular V3 but not a deal-breaker. It's probably better indoors than outdoors.

If I put OG camera on SD continuously slow down my internet speed ?

Just bought the OG $29.95 at Home Depot . I will be using it to monitor my parrots when I'm at work.

Out of the box my base is attached to the camera. It's really hard to get off! I'm afraid I will break it!

Mine can't read the setup QR code, so sending it back. I have two V3s that work fine and recognize the QR code instantly.

Someone gifted me three of these for my startup business and it's a game changer.

cam plus light is a deal braker. ! i have the pan v3 and OG and i absolutely HATE them because wzye took it away and it requires allot of input from your end to look a the footage from SD card, this is going to be the moment when Wyze jumped the shark. i have sent back both of these cameras to amazon,

There is not even an option for the wyze og cam when I click on add device, and they want 3.33 extra each month plus my address. Is anyone else done this?

This camera doesn't have a view playback. I don't get this. Why does it have a view playback. I wouldn't have bought this knowing that.

Not at all impressed! No base, no person detection. SD card doesn't work. Don't buy, or waste your money . Get the V3. It's a way better camera and value.
