Wyze Cam Window Install 2 - Video Quality Comparison Wyze Cam vs Wyze Cam Pan + Time Lapse

Today, we will compare the footage from the Wyze Cam Pan vs the regular Wyze Cam but with a twist... they, will be installed inside a glass window. This is the part 2 of "security camera through the glass window" setup which I did a few months back. I will also show you a footage from the Wyze Cam Pan set for a time lapse while we were taking down my old steel shed.

Lol.. I know.. occasionally I get notification from my Ring spotlight cam of a possum which have lived in the shed also for some time..

mine is the same and been goig strong for a year. add a micro sd and put it on record events only. a 32g will last a month or so.

@@LifeHackster Just a WARNING, you can use the metal ring, but ONLY, IF YOU PLAN TO LEAVE IT THERE, FOREVER, DO NOT USE the metal disk, that comes with the Wyze camera on windows, IF you plan on ever removing it, heating the metal ring up, to get the adhesive to let go/release, WILL CRACK THE GLASS. If you plan on leaving it there, FOREVER, it will be fine though/good.

Matt Matt - there are hacks to remove it..I’ll show it next time..if you have a dash cam, you already know.. sawing action using a twine or string...

@@LifeHackster Thats good to know, yeah a vid, would be helpful for people, I'm sure. I wasn't saying you didn't know what you were talking about, just trying to be helpful, not mean/trolling, I was just warning people, to not try heat, usually thats a good option, but not with glass.

I wonder if getting a piece of black cardstock or matte board from Hobby Lobby would help with window reflections. Cut a large square, maybe 8"x8" with a hole in the middle big enough for the lens of the Wyze cam. Mount the foam board to window and then mount the cam to the board. The black would help to eat up reflections or at least give a "Flat" reflection. trying to create the effect of cupping your hands around your eyes to look through a window.

Either the EZVIZ or the Eufy will have faster notifications but the fastest will be the Ring indoor cam..

Yeah, when installing camera behind a window glass, the lens needs to touch the glass. otherwise, when night vision turns on, all you see is the reflection of the glass.

With this configuration, can the camera tilt a bit left or right? With my home, i might need about 10 degree of tilting to the right to capture all the area i need. Thank you

I love my Wyze cams.. you can't really beat $25.. they are amazing... the only thing I am waiting is for Wyze to allows to view the cam via browser... there is an option using rstp, but it's pretty laggy.

Hey LifeHackster, I currently have Ring alarm cameras mainly because of its professional alarm system. However, when ring announced selling or allowing Police Departments access to video feed has me rethinking a different option. What kind of wireless camera system would you recommend? I 've seen your videos just out of personal opinion what would you do?

Put painters tape over the IR lights if you cannot turn them off in the software.

I know you like your lights, as do I. However, for those of us who have neighbors that don't like the lights, can you review some IR Lights that work with Wyze Cam and/or BlinkXT2? Love your reviews. Keep it up!

I will test this out soon... I just haven't found an IR illuminator that can be easily installed...most of them have power adapters that needs to be plugged in...

Were the windows double pane? I would think the first glass wouldn't be a problem but the 2nd pane would cause a reflection.

Hello. I have appreciated your help with the Wyze cams. But I have a question about the pan cam. With no manual provided I have not solved. Why does pan scan feature on, turn off the detection zone? And why set up zones if it cancels it? I don't understand this or which to use. Thank you.

i've been looking for another 7x7 or slightly larger resin shed but the prices jumped up from $499 to 699 and higher. oh and a riding lawn mower? i mow 2 acres by hand lol

The one that will be built will be from tuff shed...and should last more than the galvanized one.. as to the riding mower, I just got that one from a coworker of mine for almost nothing.

Which light can I buy for my apartment. We can't drill or have wires running everywhere. I have the Littlelfe cameras. But need a activate sensor light that is not to big and can stick it anywhere. And how do I connect to my screen TV? Please help 🙏🙏Love your videos!

Have you tried placing the wyze sense motion sensor outside so that the wyze camera inside will start recording when it detects motion .

You can also do that but the only benefit will be faster notifications..with the AI set to person, it is pretty good in notifying when it detects people...

I tried this and it doesn't work so well with screens. I was surprised at how clearly in focus the screen was.

I thought you were using the shelf because it had to be easily and cleanly removed (using Command tape if you’re renting).

Yes, you can..but even with mounting tape, you will still be able to remove it (harder) from the window and without damaging the glass.
