I found this very useful. Thank you! - I am in British Columbia .. weather is VERY WET. I opened mine that wasn't charging and found exactly the same problem. I have been able to pull the circuitry and I will be looking at replacing that one only (maybe it's cheaper?) - I would not throw away my camera, because I have 3 more, and one of them is also the V2. - I am against "throwing away" electronics and there should always be the possibility of replacing such a small and lively very cheap circuitry. - Will try to source another circuit and, I successful I'll post it here. (BTW, if I get the new circuitry and it works, I'll 1) Seal the heck out the the camera with silicone. 2) Will sneak inside that bugger a small packet of desiccant (probably the same you found in the original packaging of the camera when you first opened it). - Also, at the very least, considering the short time they have been out, the battery should still be good to re-use for other projects (maybe).

I've had a similar problem. All my outdoor cams have solar cells charging them- which use a similar rubber seal on the connecting wire. In a recent case the cell became disconnected because of wind and the cam connection point was then exposed. It didn't rain but just condensing fog seems to be enough to damage them if the connection is not completely sealed.

I have the same problem! I too was a fan of Wyze but the outdoor cam has been a disappointment. I ended up bringing it inside as a dog cam and still have issues. I'm stuck on flashing red light and it won't charge. Searching help on it now. I think mine might be too old for warranty but I'll try. The app gives me an error message when trying to contact help center and the link doesn't go through. Argh... Any way, thanks for posting this so I know that I'm not alone.

I searched for “outdoor wyzecam v1 wont charge” this video didn’t pop up. “Wyze cam dissembled” like 2nd on the list. I have same problem. No longer in stock so they offered me $20 gift card.. 👎🏽

i have three of them that died and will not recharge ; the cams are definitely not for outdoor in Florida.. they are not cheap enough to justify them being so poorly engineered

I had the same issue with corrosion and I was able to clean the corrosion fix it . But I like to build a little hat of some sort for the camera to help prevent from happening again

What screwdriver did you use?

The outdoor cams SUCK! I have had 3 out of 5 fail the exact same way. Out of warranty, and Wyze could care less. Don't buy

Never buying any of their piece of junks. Zumimall is a much better cam
