I doubt their will be if your porch has a covering. Even without it I doubt it would have an issue but could be wrong lol.

The power is stepped down the 5v anyway from the door bell power. So no, it does not effect “Range” at all.

@Tyler Hall I apologize. I based my answer on cell tower technician experience and AM/FM Radio engineering work I did in the 90's. I made a few assumptions without testing and may have made a mistake. I agree with you, if the input voltages were stepped down to the same 5 volts then the range would not be affected. However I decided do a few tests. The Wyze doorbell voltages from the transformer and USB power input options yield different output voltages. They are not the same 5 V consistently. Even 2 of the same units with the same input voltage yield different voltages. I assume this is the result of cheap and or rushed manufacturing or from use of lower quality materials. Tests were performed using a Fluke 87V and compared against my old, trusted and calibrated Simpson Model 260. Readings between the 2 meters are very consistent. Today's electronics are soooo much more sensitive. A tiny 0.01 V difference will affect the distance a signal transmission will travel. I found Wyze Doorbell voltages varied greatly depending on the input voltage, Here's a perfect real world example of how a very small power variance makes a huge difference. When I started in the cell phone industry, car phones were installed with a 30 to 50 watts transmitter as standard output and a purse or bag phone would have a 3 to 5 watts transmitter typically and could be more, Service was poor, range sucked and one very expensive cellular radio wave per conversation was all the tech could handle. When I left the cell phone industry, cell phones were transmitting multiple data packs and voice calls at the same time, on 1 cell channel and over greater distances with much higher reliability using a constantly variable transmitter output of 1/4 to 1/8 of 1 watt depending on location to the tower and interference... At my house I moved the doorbell to the garage to use as a smart switch. The WiFi signal would not reach the Wyze bridge. I screwed the wires to a 16.5 volts transformer I found in a pile of junk and plugged in. Good strong signal with no drop out since install. I know radio station antennas output wattage changes every minute of every day and AM radio was required to drastically reduce power or shut down at night to compensate for the ways the signals of long AM radio wavelengths would interact with the ionized layers of the ionosphere several miles up. My point is that many factors can change your WiFi reception every minute of every day. For me I needed the extra distance and the transformer plug in the back worked. I'll test WiFi ranges with each plug and report findings if any one is interested.

I have the plug in camera on my back porch. Which uses this same cord. The doorbell is only drawing about 5 volts (per other videos). Wifi goes thought multiple ways & no issue.

Sadly I think they just increased the price (to include shipping) to $45 or $50 each. Yes the bulbs are great and led as well. Worth it for a room or 2 maybe.

I do have smart bulbs in every room of my house tho. Even in the bathroom, I have plain white smart bulbs because they are cheaper than color lol.

Correct. I used one from another Wyze camera myself, but really any Micro USB and brick should work.

Yep. They say it voids the warranty... But it's a $50 camera, so it's not that bad in my opinion.

I've been trying to find a way to use this doorbell without a current doorbell setup. I've only had plug and play doorbells at my place. Now I can have a plug in camera doorbell 😁

No, it does not have a battery, you could use a USB battery pack though.

Yes... You would need to either risk drilling through your wall to run the cable (so it looks neat) or ran the cable out the door.

Yea I wish they mentioned this, its like they kept the USB port hidden. I live in an apt and have to use this cause I don't have a doorbell. Now trying to figure out how to set it up without it looking fugly.
