Is it possible to use the camera connected to the electrical network constantly and that the battery is used only in the event of a power outage?

I just installed my new Wyze Battery Cam Pro yesterday to monitor my vegetable garden, and it is super great! I am also using the solar panel to power it. The video quality is very crisp and the night vision is amazing. My only gripe with this camera is that it takes a while to pull up the live feed. The wifi connection seems quite strong, even though my router is 65 feet away on a windowsill. I have the Cam Plus Unlimited plan for all of my Wyze cameras. So far, I’m really impressed!

You already know that detection zone never works as intended. Why do you keep mentioning it

I'd like to see the batteries in the Cam Pan, where the batteries are there more as a backup incase the power goes out.

I wish it was 4K, to get more detail from things that are further away (like cars in building parking lots). I appreciate it expanding options by offering Wi-Fi 5, but I wish it had 6 / 6e, since 2.4 / 5 are so crowded in urban (apartments & condos) areas. When I look at my 2.5 / 5 ranges there's more than 20 networks listed, but only four on 6 and one on 6e. Is the continuous charging using a standard micro USB or USB C, or is it a proprietary power connector?

I have 11 of the regular WYZE cams. I think I need one of these too! I like that it doesn't need a hub, and will show up in my current WYZE app. Does it take a micro flash drive or do you have to get the cloud service?

I am not sure if I can trust battery power. Be that as it may, I am glad they finally upgraded to 5Ghz. My Wyze cam V3s keep cutting off. Why not manufacture this with a power cord? Oh well. Good stuff from Wyze.

So basically not worth it until playback becomes available. Swapping battery packs every few days if you have it somewhere that has a ton of motion. Almost identical to a simplisafe camera.

What about winter time at -30 on a solar panel? Its lithium, will it charge on a cold - day wrecking the battery?

5Ghz Wifi... Hopefully that helps. I had to quit using my other Wyze cameras for most my needs because they just weren't reliable enough (slow detections, taking forever to load in the app). I even tried Cam Plus with them and they were still unreliable.

Does not allow local recording to micro-SD yet. You have to pay for a Cam Plus subscription to save the recording to the cloud. Why buy a video camera and have pay for a subscription to save the video recording?

Will this cam utilized the Wyze solar panel to supplement the battery? I use them with my Wyze outdoor cams and they work great.

So I have several wyze outdoor cams with Wyze wyze solar panels. The solar panels use USBc. They come with an adapter that goes from USBc to MicroB. I have the new Battery Cam Pro. It only has a USBc to USBa. So there is not a way (out of the box) to use the wyze solar panel with Wyze battery cam pro.

Can you tel me if wyze cam will be compatible whit Home Kit from Apple?

Don’t care for the app setup. On certain cameras like the battery cam pro or the v3 pro or og etc., it won’t allow you to view playback and watch what you recorded. The Wyze Cam V3 is the only camera that’ll allow it. It is the only camera I will use. Wyze should’ve allow that on every camera.

MicroSD Card information? Max storage capacity etc., etc.?

The obvious absence of how much storage it can hold and management of memory must mean that it only records clips, not continuously because the battery would only last a few days if it did. So really the solar panel or Ac adapter are necessities. Swung and whiff.

Wyze says that the memory card wont be available At launch due to “issues”! Why not wait and fix the issues before releasing the new cameras?? 🤦‍♂️

Cherry-picked marketing video for a high priced product. No way on Earth the battery will last for “months.” SD card support to be activated later. 2k video is a nominal sharpness improvement over 1080p. HDR is a good addition I suppose but does that make the battery-power-only camera worth it at almost $100 apiece without accessories?

He says "you bought this for the 2k resolution, why not record in 2k?" The real question is, why have an option for HD when 2k was the reason on buying it? Why did you skip Manage MicroSD feature??

Our Wi-Fi network doesn't reach up the road, but we need to record motion footage at the top of the road. Can this camera not be connected to Wi-Fi but still record footage to a MicroSD card that we can look at the footage later?

What are you guys doing to fix pet detection? According to the community forum many people are having an issue getting recorded events for pet detection. It used to work great. I have contacted support multiple times and no one can help. I even canceled my cam plus subscription because someone in the community forum said that worked for them. Didn't work for me. Please get someone to fix this. It stopped working months ago.

Your videos are awesome but mainly because you are a very good English-speaking American, how bad would the videos be if they were done by the same people we have to talk to when we call to in customer service that are trying to speak English, but they are not very good at it, and they are not American. I really like the products a lot, and I was one of the early backers that contributed when times were rough but the product was worth it and the new stuff is amazing, but your customer service is hard to reach and harder yet to understand, I just spent over 35 minutes on the phone trying to find out why items were not shipped that said they were, I got no e/mail about it only a partial shipment with no info about the missing items. I Love the products, but I cringe when I have to talk to customer service you need to get some better speaking customer service people and an easier way to reach someone.

Does it have the AI detection on-board?

Before you buy,, they choose to be anti-consumer by forcing you to use their services or not have access to advertised features. Their software quality has not improved since day 1 either. Not worth it anymore for a cheap camera.

Wyze thinks they’re Apple. I have two of the earlier cameras that require the hub and they barely work. They stay stuck and won’t upgrade to any firmware upgrades.

24/7 recording with sd card?

+Just talking to "Russel" from so called customer support. He's trying to explain why I dont get 12 seconds and a notification. He's implying that the 12 seconds is just a 2 week introductory offer. Looks like Wyze wants $3.99 plus 13% tax CAD for each camera thats about $60 bucks a month to watch my dog scratch.

This is literally the worst camera set up I've ever used.. I bought 3 of them for home security while working on this house and 1 of the three work just better to look at the reviews before you buy this camera because the comments on here are not the reviews I've read and found out on my own.. returning tomorrow to buy the ring camera instead...
