X-35 Ball Nut Cleaning // Onefinity Maintenance

2 жыл бұрынThis video walks you through how to clean the X-35 ball nuts (different from the x-50 ball nuts with black wipers). This should be done at least every 100 hours.
Note: only the x-35 rail has the two white wipers (we showed an x-35 rail in this video). X-50 ball nuts have two black plastic wipers that are not removable. Please see this video if you are cleaning the X-50 ball nut: • X-50 Ball Nut Cleaning...
WARNING Do NOT remove the ball nut from the ball screw to service it unless instructed by Onefinity Support. If removed, it's possible the 50 or so tiny ball bearings can fall out and they are very hard to 'repack'. Please perform all maintenance with the ball nut on the ball screw like this video shows.

24, thats the number of times Ball was said in this video. how often is it recommended to do this.

Many variables, Do you use dust collection? If not, every carve :P. Every 100-200 hours or so. If you do it and it looks clean, you can widen the length of time.

Do you recommend pulling the wiper and blowing out debris with regular maintenance (cleaning/blowing/oiling)?

@@OnefinityCNC I absolutely cannot get the white wiper out of the ball but on the Z axis, I’ve tried compressed air, spinning the ball nut, using a screw drive to spin the wiper out but it is not coming out I was able to get the lower white wiper out but the top is at the point where I’ve actually damaged it a little bit with the screwdriver, you guys have any other suggestion to get it out?

When we add oil to the oil port how much oil do we need to add? Reason I ask….I replaced the white wiper and added oil. The oil starts to come out of the white wiper area. Is this normal or do I have to get a tighter seal with the wiper?

That's normal. once it comes out, that's the correct amount.

Always handle ball nuts very delicately...

What if the ball nut doesn't separate when you pull the gantry away? Mine is stuck to the gantry pretty good.

Take a block of wood and place it against the black gantry block. Hammer the block of wood to force the gantry off the ball nut.

Yeah I removed the ball screw from the ball nut. Does anybody know how many bearings were in there before they all rolled away?

:P You'll never pack them back correctly. Time for a new ball nut!
