It was named the Sniper Box due to the artwork my daughter did on the box. It is my daily box with plenty of videos on it playing downwards of 20Hz and burping in the mid 50hz range. I compete with it in multiple classes including musical average classes, burps and port scores as well. It has took me 2 years to perfect this design. It is a series tuned 6th order with quick change baffles, I also run a single 6.5" sub as well.

Time to invest in a "shop light" for in the Jeep.

Awesome! I personally love to see Companies have the balls to test and push there subs to there limits and take the time to video it for everyone to see.. This video should shut alot of people up as to what 8spl subs are capable of these days.. I’m currently running a CT Sounds Meso 8 on almost twice the rated power at 1500rms and its taking it without even getting warm.. This vid has got me wanting this X8 Version 3 sub now.. The power being driven into these Sundowns is crazy huge. The thing that struck me is that you guys don't seem to care about the music, just the test tone! Kinda like guys who talk about torque in a car rather than how usable it is in the final product.

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask, but here goes. What airspace and port size would you recommend for this, in a non-comp, SQ ( love my 25hz and up lows), daily use situation. RMS power that i can put to work is 600watts atm. Thanks guys!

I know this is an old post but I have a Cadillac ATS with a 12 W7 in a ported box I’m trying to find a subwoofer small enough with a ported box so I can fit my surfboard in the trunk and I’m looking at 8 inch maybe 10 inch but will this sub sound good with rock rap music ? I’m using a Jl slash 1000 V2/amp. What size ported box is best for this subwoofer ?

How close is the SAv3 8" to the Xv2 8" or Xv1 8"???... Because my SAv3 8"s sound louder than my Xv2 8"s... So I was kinda wondering how close are they actually??..

I just bought a new x8 v4. I have a Rockville db16 amp that should push around 1000 W RMS clean at 4 ohms and I was worried that may be a little too much amp for it but now I’m thinking it will be just fine.

If I had only heard about this second-hand, I’d doubt it was true. I know that it’s in a special box, designed to maximise that burp. Doubt it could ever get same score on music. Even so, the fact that an 8” sub can produce so much sound pressure is insane. Not surprise it was toast by the end or the rest. It was a test to destruction. Regardless, I’d wager that no other 8” driver can get close to the same level of sound pressure.

Wow I have a 3000 watts rms at .5 ohm stable amp and was thinking about 2 sundown 12 x subs 2ohm dvc.

what size spider does the x8 v3 have?

Not a fan of bandpass enclosures due to the peaky nature of them but, this bandpass box looks pretty nice though. I prefer sealed, IB, and DBRs the best.

Hey Sundown... I got a Question for y'all. Do you all take trade ins by chance?.. reason I'm asking is is because I need the space in my car but I don't wanna lose my output to much. I got two Sundown Sav3 8"s one is only a few months old I got from Apex at y'all's North Carolina wearhouse which is where I live btw lol. Anyway I'm looking for a single Sub that can do very well on its own. Not nothing big so 10" or 8" preferably a X 10" like a older V2. I'd be willing to trade both the SAv3 8"s for one X10.
