坐落於維多利亞港海旁的西九文化區(文化區)是香港重要的文化基礎建設項目。文化區將建有多項具地標性的文化藝術設施，為香港創造一個多姿多彩的文化地帶和藝術發展空間。
政府與西九文化區管理局攜手合作，推展文化區的發展項目。當中，西九文化區管理局負責發展文化藝術設施、公眾休憩用地及零售／飲食／娛樂等設施，而土木工程拓展署負責綜合地庫、公共基礎建設及其他配套設施例如修建道路、排水、污水收集及供水系統、行人天橋、公眾碼頭等，以配合和支援文化區的發展，並加強其與周邊地區的通達性。
透過各工程團隊的努力和創新建造的運用，上述工務工程的設計、建造和管理上的挑戰得以迎刃而解，文化區的各項設施將分階段完成興建並開放予公眾享用，讓這個全球矚目的文化項目得以逐步展現眼前。
Situated at the waterfront of Victoria Harbour, West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD) is an important cultural infrastructure project of Hong Kong. WKCD will be constructed with a number of arts and cultural landmarks to create a vibrant cultural quarter and a broad space for arts development in Hong Kong.
The Government has been collaborating closely with the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority to take forward the development projects in WKCD. While the WKCDA is responsible for the development of cultural and arts facilities, public open space and retail/dining/entertainment facilities, the Civil Engineering and Development Department is tasked to take forward the integrated basement, public infrastructure and other ancillary facilities such as roads, drainage, sewerage, watermains, footbridges, public pier, etc., to support the development of WKCD and enhance the connectivity of the district.
With the joint efforts and collaboration of the project teams and the application of innovative technologies, the design, construction as well as asset management challenges of the aforementioned public works projects could be resolved effectively. The construction of the facilities in WKCD will be completed and opened to public in phases and allows this mega WKCD development to be implemented successfully for public enjoyment.
