After 27 years, Cyclops FINALLY got his "I'm The Leader" stamp back. It was how I saw him in the 90's. I'm glad they kept the animation style. Let's pray the writing holds up to the previous standard.

Most of them are the same voice actors. The actor who voiced Cyclops passed away a few years ago so he is definitely new.

Omg, it makes sense to make magneto the inheritor! Charles knows he gave up his mutant rebellion on the eve of a decisive battle and the irony of Charles saying, "its your turn, let's see what you do with it!" I remember when they tried wolverine becoming the boss, and it grew on me!

Honestly I still consider this part of my childhood. Because I used to watch this in my very late teens Into my early twenties.. Before work on saturdays I would watch it with a bowl of cereal... Along with my couple siblings

I've been waiting for this since the series was announced almost 3 years ago. Cal Dodd will always be my favorite voice for Wolverine so I'm so excited he's back as Wolverine again. That theme got me hyped as a 4 year old and it still gets me hyped at 34 years old.

Return to the status quo? You guys don't remember it very well I see. Every season had multi episode story arcs that were frequently referenced throughout the rest of the series. Some built directly off of other arcs. Like when they did the 5 episode Phonenix saga arc that directly setup the 2 or 3 episode Dark Phonenix arc. Hell one of the famous lines from the animated series was, "perivously on X-Men". If you had not been watching that was the only thing that was going to catch you up. Also, X-Men had a definitive ending? The thing ended with Professor X being taken to be healed off planet and the X-Men having to carry on until he gets back.. How is that Definitive?

I have to watch the series again before this comes out and I agree with Aaron, we need a sequel to Spider-Man: The Animated Series.

Honestly, on the subject of Spider-Man: The Spidey show I’d want to bring back is Spectacular Spider-Man. To me it was head-and-shoulders above Spider-Man TAS, but it was screwed over pretty thoroughly by Disney taking over animation rights.

I think if they were going to bring back and finish any Spider-man animated show, I feel like it would have to be Spectacular Spider-Man because, as iconic as the 90s show was, it still had a pretty decent run, but with Spectacular they only got 2 seasons and never got the full chance to flourish that it deserved, despite it's great serialised writing, bc of studio semantics

Hope they bring back X Men Evolution as well, that series was so good!

The VA for voicing Cyclops is Ray Chase. You recognize him from voicing Tengen Uzui in Demon Slayer, Sukuna, and Choso in Jujutsu Kaisen.

this could mean ALOT for the future of western animation. Invincible was already a good sign, but something mainstream like this? could really mean alot.

Spider Man the 90s Cartoon deserves a true ending, we got left on such a cliffhanger and by now I have seen the show multiple times, it's one of my favorite Comic Book series of all time! It's a Classic!

I hated when this series ended, but i made up for by getting the series on DVD so i could have my own copy. Really gave me chills w/ the music and as long as that stays, i will be thrilled w/ whatever else happens. Spider-Man would be great to see a continuation as well.

2:40 Oh I started watching the X-Men in 1992 when I was 7. It’s what got me into my super hero fandom and it’s always been my favorite. I even have the X-Men 90’s arcade in my game room with other stuff. I’m so damn excited!

The end of the Spider-Man cartoon was Spidey swinging around with Stan Lee in the episode literally called Farewell Spider-Man. It did end properly after Secret Wars and Spider Wars (Spider-Verse). They just never found MJ. Because they did that thing kid shows do where they kill a character but leave it open ended so they don’t get in trouble with the censors.

You guys should watch it again to get a refresher.

Now I remember something a reliable leaker Mikey Sutton said before he passed away. He said when we see the MCU’s live action Cyclops, that they are sticking heavily to the comics and making him the leader of the team he’s supposed to be and they will go into the cosmic origins of his beams same with Juggernaut when they decide to introduce him. He said this almost a year ago he called the 97 show.

I'm glad Marvel's been moving more into animated properties lately. I would *love* to see Marvel do a full animated universe tbh (like the DCAMU & Tomorrowverse). I'd also love more animated shows like X-Men: Evolution & Wolverine and the X-Men.

I saw this reply concerning Jean Grey's storyline here considering what happened in the old series and Mr. Sinister is still alive...here it is: Several years ago when it was confirmed that 97' was happening, a script was leaked (I can no longer trace the source of the article) but in summary, if the script is true, it is no secret that Mister Sinister is obsessed with Jean Grey & Scott Summers (especially with Jean) - he collected genetic samples of theirs thus cloning Jean creating Madelyn Pryor but in this 97' version, it's not entirely following its comic book counterpart - this clone is programed with all of Jean's memories to whereas she is convinced she is Jean (unaware that she is a clone). In the trailer, a casket was shown lowering (it was someone's funeral; it's not Charles Xavier - Charles is not dead. Charles is in space with Lilandra as she is using Shi'r technology to cure him from the last finale of season 5) - that casket is an empty casket for Jean Grey - Jean is presumed to be dead after a deadly bombing by the purifiers/anti-mutant hate group but her body isn't nowhere to be found but she is presumed to be dead. Mister Sinister used this opportunity to use Jean's clone to replace her, hoping it will create a byproduct of a child with Scott Summers - Cable. Eventually, the real Jean comes back and the clone Jean is driven into madness after discovering her life is a lie and that she is indeed just a clone of Jean Grey. The clone Jean soon calls herself Madelyn Pryor in order to find her own identity and ultimately becomes the Goblin Queen (if you look up hasbro x-men 97' line up toys, Goblin Queen is in it; confirming this story). The Phoenix entity is the source behind Jean's disappearance - during the attack from the purifiers and the deadly bomb, everyone's lives were at stake & she subconsciously called out to the Phoenix Force once more again to her aid (because she still has this link or per say psychic link or connection to the Phoenix, whether if it's a fragment of the Phoenix, i don't know) whereas saving everyone from the attack - Jean was missing because she was in suspended animation in the white hot room. They're bringing back the Phoenix to 97' because the Phoenix saga and the Dark Phoenix saga is widely popular and disney/Marvel knows it's a smart move to bring the Phoenix back - It sounds like they're going to introduce a similar story to that of the Phoenix warsong & Phoenix endsong and because the Phoenix is coming back, Charles Xavier and the Shi'r Queen Lilandra will once again make their appearance as well (Charles is cured by Lilandra through the use of Shi'r technology) as we all know, the Shi'r will do everything in their power to eradicate the Phoenix entity.

I’m a so excited about this! I love all of the animated x-men shows. Y’all should watch x-men evolution or wolverine and the x-men if you haven’t. They are really good too.

it would be 100% in the comics canon to have the professor have them sign away their likeness and marketing rights for joining the x-men. So he has just been profiting from them for decades.

I hope you guys consider watching the show. It had the best adaptation of the most complex stories. It did the Phoenix story to perfection as well as Dark Phoenix, Phalanx, Savage Land and great background episodes with the main characters. It really is worth the revisit.

they did continue the 90's spiderman series its called Spider-Man Unlimited and its not very good (similar to the original spiderman animated series) but hits a certain bit of nostalgia for me as it came out when i was a kid and i caught it on tv a lot

I swear my local Fox affiliate air'd everything but the pilot episodes out of order. For me, the series ended with cliff hanger with Apocalypse where I thought it he killed them all and won.
